well, first of all, brain is not the sole determinant of someone being able to make it to universities abroad... not that i am underestimating my friends (they are quite smart), but they have the money to go that far... ;P
and to be honest, my family and i didnt think much about the long-term consequences when we signed the scholarship contract, and the same applies to most of the scholars in singapore. last time, they gave us all the advantages and not the cons (err...maybe i should've taken ki earlier to see the weakness of their arguments... haha) so you can say that we have a bit of regret now...
however, just like u mentioned, we do learn valuable things here so yeah... it's not all wasted... ;) trying to make myself look at the bright side.
about ur last point, i can only hope and pray that it IS true... hahaha... i just read a book and watched a movie with harvard in them and how i want to go there someday... (i assume you also wish so, right???)... BUT, judging by my block tests, i dont think i will be that fortunate... sigh... hope time can change that... ;)
