Update on the minecraft post from January.
This didn't pan out, the server and game client require a different version of Java to be installed on my computer than the version of Java i need for my job, so i have had to take the server down.
Also, i got wound up in trying to make the things i was building less explodey, to no avail. my perpetual motion machines weren't all that perpetual, even with everything turned off before i logged out of the server, i would invariably return to find a large crater where the machines used to be.
after three rebuilds, and subsequent explosions, i decided the investment of resources wasn't worth the effort and gave up :-/
THEN i had to take the minecraft server down
