Financial Aid

Who here has had financial aid problems at college before?

I know they've consistently managed to fuck up my financial aid package every semester - and I know I'm not the only one.

My question that I pose to you is this: how do the people at financial aid remain employed? I know if I constantly fucked up at my job, I'd simply be fired. Somehow, that doesn't apply to anyone who works at a financial aid office.

My favorite part of dealing with them is walking into the office, knowing exactly what the issue is and how I need them to help resolve it (I had to fund a lot of my education personally and through unorthodox means - I've done a lot of homework on what's involved because that's what it took to stay in school) - and I'll have to play 20 questions with them because they assume I'm an idiot who has no idea how he's funding his education. Not everyone who walks through their door is a dumb I'm-Here-To-Play-Football-And-Have-No-Idea-What-The-Fuck-Is-Going-On-Liberal-Arts-Major. Some people (gasp!) actually have an idea (a good idea) of how financial aid works.

In general, I've found that the people in that office know less about financial aid than I do - which is scary considering it's their job. Personally, I wouldn't trust them to manage your financial aid - the only person qualified to do that is you (just let them supply forms).

I pose the question one more time: how can the workers over at financial aid fuck up so much and not be fired?
