Experiences are bound by the same metaphysical tragedy with which we cope, life and death. Forgetting is a small death.
When someone matters truly to you, forgetting them is killing them. It becomes a small test of principles when choosing how to remember.
Remembering is an escape from death. An escape from entropy. Just like I hold onto my life, I damn well hold onto my memory. I do not deny the futility of either, but by my principles, i will always resist.
