OMFG. My essay that’s due next Monday? Is more complicated than I imagined.
STEP 1:
To begin, you need to choose a topic that interests you. Your choices are:
1. Biometric surveillance
2. The use of CCTV cameras
3. Online identity-related crime
STEP 2:
After choosing a topic from the list above, you must find a ‘real life’ incident related to your ( Read more... )

That seems to be the consensus thus far. IDK, I let my tv-related brain get the better of me, I find assault and murder much more interesting (originally, before I realized we were confined to these topics, I was going to do my report on cyber-bullying, focusing on one girl who committed suicide as a result, but yeah, that's obv not applicable) so these white-collar things were just meh.

But you've got a good point! Thanks for putting it in those terms, relating it to fandom, however tenuous the link, makes it more interesting to me. ^_^ If I think about it with reference to our own online lives, that does render the whole thing more relevant and at least bearable. *huggles* Appreciated, bb!

Oh, before I forget- I was gonna pm you, lol, and then it slipped my mind til I saw you comment; a long time ago, when I was ruminating over a plot-bunny, you offered to beta if I ever got it done. Well, er, I didn't, but there's this exchange happening now, you see... *trails off significantly*

If you're busy with RL and your own fic and such, I understand! Just, I'm intimidated by the whole process (god, I can dish it out but I can't take it! I had a friend read something- not even looking for typos or anything, just reading to let me know her thoughts on the plot- and hearing critique, however well-earned and appropriate, made me want to curl up into a ball and whimper!) and you're a friendly face who's offered before, so I thought I'd check. ^_^

If it helps, I'm not going to be writing an epic 20,000+ fic or anything, just a couple/few thousand words is all.

God, I can't wait for my prompts! I want them noooowwww!

Hey yeah - I remember offering. :D

I'll be able to beta if it is around 5k words give or take a thousand (upwards, that is!). I can't do more than that because I'll actually be away for some of June/July - but yes. I'll PM you with my email address. Send me an email from yours and we'll chat from there about how to make this as painless as possible LOL! Don't be intimidated.

And zomgosh yes! Can't wait for prompts. :)

I actually did try, but my prob was that I was leaping into a situation which required them to be on friendly terms and I couldn't make it work without backstory explaining how they got to that point. *eyeroll* So...it's not abandoned, but on the back-burner for now.

I kind of really want whoever's prompt it was that said 'finish off a fic you've started', because GOD, that'd be so much easier. But...IDK, I'm nervous enough to want a cop-out, but also excited enough to want something to challenge me. *facepalm* Contradiction, thy name is Annie!

God, I don't think I'd get to 5k, but I appreciate it, thanks so much! And of course, if it takes me too long and you're away, that'll be on me. Don't expect you to work on vacation! (or...work while working, if it's business-related)

:D I'm feeling a lot more optimistic now I know I have you! *dances*
