I do get what you're saying and I have some sympathy, 'coz hell, I can't finish a mere couple thousand word fic to save my life, I have zero staying power, lol, so lots of respect to people who can write long multi-book series, but the thing is, you should stay true to the characters. HP and the Winding Circle books? The heart of them is the friendship between the main group of kids. And yet the writers in both series decided to trash that because of hormonal hijinks, just make them treat each other like crap at various stages, despite their long-standing friendship and
