Electric Feel! *dances* I luffs it so. And the music video is just trippy, lol.

The dinner on Saturday...rollercoaster ride before we ever even left; the parents had a huge argument and at one stage we weren't going to attend any more but they managed to patch things up and we made it after all. I was kinda disappointed- I had two episodes each ( Read more... )

Say it with me....

REAL
VAMPIRES
DO
NOT
SPARKLE!!

That vid was just as awful as the actual movie...only with puppets. I think I'll be having nightmares tonight. Better watch some more Farscape to counter act that. ;)

eh, hit me with the meme thing...and I already know at least ONE of the shows/fandoms you'll ask me about. ;-b

THEY DON'T?! :O BUT SMEYER TOLD ME SO! MY LIFE, IT IS RUINED. OH, CRUEL WORLD...

LMAO. Real vampires. Not of the fake variety, the sissy sparkly ones. But they're so much prettier than the 'real' vampires, the ones that get all brow-ridge-y and snarly and ugly, like in Buffy. Speaking of which, I love that there's anti-Twilight merchandise, like, this t-shirt with the caption, 'And then Buffy staked Edward. The End'. Heh.

Ah, but the vid KNEW it was awful, it was deliberately pointing out how awful the plot is! The movie is just firmly assured of its own awesome.
*headdesk* I'm sorry, I didn't meant to give you nightmares! Hopefully Farscape can ward them off!

'k, the three I pick are...Leverage, Pushing Daisies and [no surprises here] TLW! I thought about picking something else just to shock you but I figured why cut off my nose to spite my face. :P

Don't make me sick Angel or Mick St. John on you. They're so much better looking than those sissy sparkly "vampires". *rolleyes*

Hmmm, nice choices there. ;)

Please, I beg you, sic them on me. I'd enjoy that. :P

But oh, damn, yes, I need to clarify that- I just meant that it's common for vampires to get ugly lookin' when they go into 'vampire mode'. Sorry, Angel, that includes you.

I like Mick's vampire-ness the best, I think; he's basically his own attractive self, just with cloudy eyes, minus the lame-ass sparkling. And he can walk around in the daylight if he covers his head with a newspaper! I never liked how vulnerable vampires were, so that was a nice touch. Ooh, the vampire in Blood Ties is also super gorgeous and his only vampire-y traits are black eyes, I think. It seems to me that as time goes on, vampires get less and less ugly, lol.

Glad you approve. Leverage and PD are my new favorites, so I wanted to see what you thought of them.

Hehe, I really like those books :D I kind of want a Curran. And now I want to read it again. Holy, hell do I really want a Curran! You have read all three right?

I absolutely LOVE them. But you know that already. :D
And it was funny, because I was like- hey, this guy breaks into her place to watch her sleep. Edward!Stalker!alert, right? But she doesn't find it romantic and she kicks his ass, so that makes it okay. ^_^

I so wants me a Curran. *daydreams*

Yes, I've read all three [I managed to make MS last a whole week, it was so hard pacing myself!]. And will probably DIE FROM THE STRESS OF WAITING for the next one [JUNE 2010. *criz*]. Have you read the prologue that Ilona put up on her website? It made me tear out my hair with frustration, lol.

I love that she kicks his arse :D Also? Her sword sounds so awesome! I want a sword that sparks!

The excerpt from Andrea's POV? Yeah! I want more!

I was totally sold by the cover- lookit that sword! And it's so temperamental it starts smoking now and then, ahaha.

Omg, dude, no, no, not that one from Andrea's POV [although it sounds fab and I want!] but the excerpt from the new Kate book [tentatively titled Magic Bleeds]. I lost my link to it and upon googling, I discovered Ilona's on LJ, which just makes me giddy. :D Anyway, Kate excerpt here.

ETA: Oh, dear god, she's posting teensy snippets from the book along the way. It's nowhere near enough to sate my cravings but yayz! *bounces*

Sometimes I am not sure I have three fandoms and other days I realize I dabble in damn near everything. What do you think.....can you pick three things I am totally into? I will leave that up to you.

I am kinda anti-Twilight. Its like everywhere and I honestly had not even heard of it until the hype around the movie started to reach a fever pitch. It's a little bit insane. I never even heard of the books until then.

I need some new books to get into though.

Hmm, you are a toughie. CM and TWW, for sure. Other than that...Star Trek?

Heh, I'm very anti-Twilight, but there aren't a lot of us around, sadly. The craze over this book drives me mental.

You read crime/suspense type books, right? Yeah, I got nothing- oh, 'cept for Michael Koryta's Envy the Night, that made my fav list, but I'm more a fantasy/paranormal girl myself.

Crime/suspense is my favorite kind of reading. I dont even know how I got hooked on it because I remember as a teen I hated it. I think it was Robert B. Parker though, I got hooked on Spenser, fell down the wormhole and never came back. Plus they are usually so short and to the point my frazzled attention span can handle them.

Ooh yes, I love all three and will be happy to do this meme on the morrow. I think I am going to bed early tonight. In fact, I just wrote a CM fic that talks about Star Trek over at hotch_prentiss. It was an excuse to get Hotch naked but its about Star Trek too : D

Oh, I just remembered another crime author I really love- Lisa Gardner! I got the newsletter advertising her new book, so it wasn't really my memory at work, lol. Another crime-type author I love is Kay Hooper but she writes paranormal romances- paranormal FBI romances, if that makes it any better.

Bwahaha, teh puppet mockery is fantastically funny. *rewatches it yet again* Glad you found it amusing! [Though if I have any secret Twilight fans on my flist, they probably hate my guts now]

OMG, you must read the book! I'm not kidding that I'll buy it off you if you don't like it. I want my own copy, I just can't get to town right now and then they have to order it from overseas and I can't be bothered doing all that when the library has it anyway ( ... )

LORD OF THE RINGS?! "Twilight" is the LORD of the BLOODY RINGS?! Lord of the Rings was an epic work of fiction that is the cornerstone of the fantasy genre, a classic summation of all Morte d'Arthur-era myths that could arguably stand as the mythology of England. The archetypes contained in the trilogy alone -- to say nothing of The Hobbit -- could take up an entire doctoral thesis. They HAVE been the subject of doctoral thesis as well as entire semesters. It is epic literature. Modern fantasy still draws on mythic concepts and methods captured in Tolkein.

Twilight, on the other hand, is epic, all right. Epic FAIL.

I weep for humanity, I really do.

That supposedly mature and rational adults could be so brainwashed worries me, it really does. Apart from LOTR and Twilight both being BOOKS, they have nothing else in common, damn it! I was rather less eloquent in my horror at hearing this comparison [okay, incoherent, I admit it] but I gotta say WORD to your entire comment.
