!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're a Sansa fan! How exciting! She is legit one of my favorite characters of all time, and it legit boils down to her arc (have you read any of the books? I don't want to spoil you for this amazing amazing amazing lady, but ughhhhh Sansa in the books: so good. Sophie Turner is killing it and it makes me really happy.)

Like, I love Arya, and her arc is captivating and interesting (especially as a parallel/foil to Sansa's), but there is so much about Sansa that speaks to me on a very visceral level, and there is so much about her that I legit and 100% adore, from her ability to be politically savvy on a level none of the Starks actually are, to her 13/11-year-old's naivete about the way of the world and her love of epic songs and gallant and true knights and fair maidens.

JUST. ALL OF THE LOVE.

FOREVER.

Also hahahahahaha I got back into Legend of the Seeker recently (like, went on an entire rewatch) and I am simultaneously like "whyyyyyyy" and also like "hahahahahaha this show was just so much goddamn fun".

:D I'm excited you're so enthusiastic! I was sad when I googled for gifs and I kept seeing all this anti-Sansa stuff, even though I already knew she wasn't popular, so the Sansa support is awesome! (although prob that's 'coz any people who loathe Sansa on my flist are too polite to shove say so)

I haven't read the books, but I wiki'd her a while back 'coz I was really interested in her character and wanted to see how things turned out with her. REALLY BADLY, BASICALLY. Okay, so she's not raped or tortured, afaik, but still, she goes through so much, poor bb. I'm sure Sophie will continue to do justice to her character, so eager to see more! It comes back in a month or so, right? *bounces*

YES, YES, YES, EXACTLY. Her romantic side is what really hooked me in, or one of the things, who didn't have these fantasies as a girl? Or still now, even?!

It's too bad she wasn't older and couldn't counsel her father. I loved him, don't get me wrong, and it crushed me that he got killed off (yes, it was unavoidable, but still *wibble*), but he was such a dumbass politically! Sansa's way better at handling the court intrigue than he is, even as a child! I kinda hope the series ends with her on the Iron Throne, I would be so happy. SANSA FOR LAST WOMAN STANDING

I am simultaneously like "whyyyyyyy" and also like "hahahahahaha this show was just so much goddamn fun".

I often go WHYYYYY. In equal parts 'why was it canceled? *whimper* and 'WHY DOES THIS PLOT MAKE NO SENSE, WTF, WRITERS. But yeah, as much as I ranted at various points, it was fabulous. I miss the golden age of cheesy fantasy on tv, with Xena and Hercules and Sinbad, why is it so hard to have just ONE show like LotS survive? *pout* I NEEDED SO MUCH MORE CARA THAN I GOT, OKAY.

I've seen plenty of Sansa hate all over, and it just makes me irrationally angry. I mean, like, you're allowed to glom onto whichever characters most speak to you, but that doesn't really justify some of the outright vitriol people spew against her, mostly because she's naive and a teenager who dares to exist within a feminine framwork.

Her arc in the books is one of my favorite things ever, but oh goodness, my heart hurts for poor sweet Sansa. She just goes through so so so so much-- and though her situation does improve, she's still not a master of her fate. But I love how her arc is handled and what it's setting her up for.

Pretty much, while I hope that she is the Last Woman Standing, Queen on the Iron Throne, I'm almost entirely sure that she is being set up to rule, probably as Queen in the North. And I want that for her so so much. Also I want Arya to be in her Queensguard because sistersssss.

But what I love most about her arc is that she is simultaneously observer, instrument and player of the game. In a lot of ways she occupies the same spot as the reader-- she also comes from a background of much nicer tales of chivalry, as we the audience do, and she also has her perception of life as "a song" stripped away from her, just as we do. Idk, in addition to being this amazingly strong, courteous, intelligent person she also occupies a very very fascinating place in the narrative to me.

Just. Ah-maaaah-zing.

I NEEDED SO MUCH MORE CARA THAN I GOT, OKAY.

I NEEDED LIKE SIX MORE SEASONS OF CARA BEING FAB, OKAY, SHE WAS LEGIT THE BEST PART OF THAT SHOW.

Well and also the forever-present never-consummated UST from all of the cast at once. I d k, everyone in production on that show was ridiculously hot and they used it to their advantage.

(Also I hope that this makes sense, I'm a little bit drunk atm, I am amazed that I can type as well as I can.)

*eyeroll* It's seriously bizarre who some people fangirl and then turn around and bash Sansa. This is a show with a lot of frakked up people who betray and hurt and kill others, but Sansa is the worst for believing in fairytales? IDGI.

OMG, I hadn't thought of this! I would love that even more! The Iron Throne is more trouble than it's worth, Queen of the North would be better! And ESPECIALLY if Arya were part of her guard, GUH. ♥

You have such interesting thoughts on this! *squish*

I COULD CRY AT REMEMBERING HOW AWESOME SHE WAS IN SUCH LITTLE TIME. OH, THE INJUSTICE OF LIFE DENYING ME MORE.

It reminds me of this hilarious interview which I cannot find now in which Bridget talked about the UST between Kahlan and Cara and how one of the directors would joke around about them making out, 'NOW KISS. Well, do you want the show to get renewed or not? DO YOU?' *g*

I hope that this makes sense, I'm a little bit drunk atm, I am amazed that I can type as well as I can

I was super startled to find that out! I have a flister who often types as if drunk, and yet here you are and it's totally legible, correct grammar and spelling and deeply meta in some parts! *applauds*
