Aw, I love Jensen so much! The fact that she was so ordinary in a show with so many extraordinary women makes it all the better when she does do something courageous ♥
I don’t understand why people hate Sansa for being romantic and idealistic and hating conflict and being too nervous and afraid of disappointing people to speak up for what’s right because that is real, damn it. THIS!
I admit I didn't like her at first. She seemed to be more interested in herself than her family (which admittedly, I can be like that sometimes as well, but I've been known to loathe characters that remind me of myself, so...) and the fact that she came off as a bratty, entitled, pre teen drama queen didn't really help. BUT! I can understand why she wanted to do what she thought was expected of her, rather than work hard at being something that she wasn't even interested in being (does that even make sense?) And OF COURSE she was romantic and idealistic, she's what 13? Also, I really admire how much she's grown, and how she's learning to stand up for herself and her family even though it doesn't get her anything but more pain. I really really have grown to love her for it. I really really hope Joffrey doesn't break her down (haven't read the books, don't know what's gonna happen)

This exactly! As much as I adore Cara and Kahlan, they came to us as strong, dedicated, fantastic BAMFs already, and while I have fun watching them, I don't see myself in them or any traits we share (well, except for Cara's irrefutable logic that when they're trying to SAVE THE WORLD, it's not the best idea to keep being diverted by small, minor problems. Her rant about the Seeker actually going a week without rescuing farm animals or orphans was hysterically on point).
Jennsen, otoh, is relatable and I was always sad we didn't see more of her. I know it'd be hard to work her into the storyline, but still.
Oh, I know Sansa's a hard girl to warm up to, but I think with me, the more I'm meant to dislike certain characters- either as per the author's intentions or because of fandom's hatred for them- the more I actually like them, lol. She IS a bratty, entitled drama queen and that's what I enjoyed, because for a girl in her position, it's very natural for her to behave that way.
(otoh, when characters are constantly in life-or-death situations and have lost friends and family and are fighting for the survival of their society and STILL have not managed to grow up or learn anything, THAT'S when I start hating. And unforch, this is true of a lot of popular characters, imo, in a lot of popular series and it drives me mad. WHY IS HBP ALL ABOUT HARRY'S CHEST MONSTER AND THE WAR IS IN THE BACKGROUND?)
I am glad you grew to love Sansa throughout her story arc, though, it's always cool to hear when people have changed their opinions on characters and why! I share your hope that Joffrey doesn't get the better of her, although the situation looks very bleak. >_< (I haven't read any of the books either *high five*)
