IDK, I have very mixed feelings about Sansa. I feel like she is, like you said, a very real and believable character, and she does things in a way that is probably more true to life than some others, but I just cannot like her. I don't actively dislike her the way I do, say, Joffrey or Viserys, because she hasn't really done anything to warrant that level of dislike, but I do find her passiveness boring and I think of her as a very weak, easily dismissable character. This probably says more about me than it does about her or you, though. One of my favorite things about GoT is the wealth of different character types it has, something for everyone and not just one mass of sameness, so I'm glad to have characters like her even if I don't personally find much of anything to like in them.
I like your honesty in this post. If I were to try and pick characters I relate to, I would probably go for those I relate to in a more favorable light, but I think your approach is much more interesting and real. And it says something about your character that you are willing and able to own up to things about your personality that others would probably sugar-coat or hide altogether.
Also, I don't think you should take offense to the Valentine's Day gifts from your parents. Unless of course they went about it in a condescending way or explicitly said that they were giving them to you because no one else would, or something equally terrible. My parents have given me gifts on that day for as long as I can remember, and my best friend's parents usually do, too.
I totally understand Sansa not being universally adored, it's not a surprise to me, given she's no paragon of virtue. I think I was predisposed to like her, because the friend who introduced me to the show kept gushing about how awesome Sansa was, lol, so I knew that she grew up at some point and that made me more sympathetic as I watched her journey. But compared to 90% of the other characters who are very strong and bold and brash and have magnificently sprawling storylines, she is very easily dismissed.
I'm glad to have characters like her even if I don't personally find much of anything to like in them.
:D I love that you have that attitude! I see the whole 'I find this character worthless, I think they should be killed off' attitude a lot of the time with people I like (I'm strange that way, I often like the characters that are pretty unpopular- not Joffrey, though, NEVER Joffrey), and it's nice that you're okay with her because of the variety of character types available.

Wow, thanks! ^_^ I started out by thinking of just one character and then it turned into a list with a few others as well, and yeah, I'm nothing if not self-aware. One of my biggest issues with people/fiction is when they don't own their flaws or try to pretend to be someone they're not. That's never been a problem with me, lol. (possibly because if I'm open about it, then I don't have to change? I don't have to aspire to be better because 'this is who I am'?)

It...never even occurred to me to pick positive traits because I do think my personality traits aren't really found in heroes and heroines. I'm not brave or moralistic or passionate about fighing for justice and all!
Out of curiosity, who would you pick as characters you share positive traits with? Or you can make a post, if you want to take some time and think it over No pressure! I think there should be a meme going around based on this, tbh, I'd be so fascinated to see which characters people would choose!
No, no, you're right, I shouldn't take it to heart that my parents got me presents, it's pretty sweet. I think I was reading too much into it, because yeah, there really wasn't any air of condescension there, I'm just a bit sensitive on the off chance there are VIBES or anything.

I had no idea it was so prevalent! That's cool!
