I pretty much love everything about this show- with only one glaring exception. I CANNOT STAND THAT LITTLE KID. I feel bad for the Evil Queen, having to deal with him. Although it makes me wonder- why would you invoke a curse that you yourself fall victim to, and if she is self-aware, why would she adopt a child

Honestly I'm at the point where if it doesn't have a cool main lady that I like then I won't even really bother with a show. And then sometimes that happens and it treats her horribly anyways and I'm just like why, why would you do this? *sigh*
I don't see what she's done to make her such a bad mother and making his life miserable.
I could understand it if she was like, horribly mean to him or whatever. But I'm just not seeing it. Yeah, Regina has been pretty bitchy to Emma, and I'm just like ugh Regina stop it you are not helping your situation here at all, but as far as Henry goes he seems treated pretty well to me. I mean, does he ever have any consequences for his actions? From anyone?
I guess what it comes down to is that I'm rooting for Emma, but I understand where both of them are coming from. (Although I don't care for people judging Emma for giving up Henry. I feel like she didn't do it because she didn't want him, but because she knew that she wasn't able to provide a good home for a child. Which is a totally legitimate decision that takes a lot of strength. She didn't want to take Henry away from Regina whatsoever, but now that he's found her she can't bring herself to walk away.) I'd like it if Regina were able to find peace by the end of the series, rather than being horribly punished or straight-up 'vanquished.'

*pets* I feel your pain.
(btw, IDK if you watch Revenge or not, but that show has a few really well-written female character, imo, and I love their storylines and motivations)

Well, there is the fact that he’s been in therapy for ages? So it seems like there are issues. But the show didn’t explain WHY he was in therapy, maybe it only started after he got that fairytale book and got a bee in his bonnet about her being evil? Maybe I’m trying too hard, but I really don’t buy her abusing him or anything.

IKR? She shouldn’t have confirmed to Emma that she deliberately orchestrated that scene in the office- it put her in a weak position and let Emma be morally righteous and dress her down. I love Regina, but she needs lessons in how to scheme, lol.

THIIIIS. I wanna see one person, ONE, who points out how ill-mannered and unacceptable his behavior is. But if it’s Regina, I bet everyone else will be falling over themselves to reassure him it’s okay. I mean, for him to steal from his teacher and then she not only doesn’t scold him, but comes to bail out his bio-mom for him…

:O Are people doing that?! From the posts I’ve seen, I thought fandom loved Emma! I didn’t know there was this sort of shaming going on. >_<
The only person whose comment I saw about it was about how Mary Margaret brought up how Henry felt about being given up and not knowing how anyone could do that and then apologizing to Emma for putting her foot in her mouth- then they said it’d be interesting if the two women ever had a discussion about it, like, when fairytale!verse and modern!verse collided, because Snow gave up her child since they were all doomed and the queen sent people to kill them, it wasn’t her choice. It might be interesting if they had their memories back (‘coz the show’s gotta do this at least once, a fake-out where everyone remembers, but then by the end of the ep, the status quo has been returned) and Snow couldn’t grasp how Emma could give up her baby.

ITA. And obviously he ended up in an objectively ‘good’ environment, with his needs being taken care of, and IDK what her circumstances were, but it prob wouldn’t have been as luxurious as being brought up in the Mayor’s mansion.

Obv I am biased, but I want this so much! They’ve written her so sympathetically and compellingly, surely they won’t just kill her off or have some super epic harsh punishment? *quivers*

I saw one person on tumblr mention it in a post. Thankfully I haven't seen it anywhere else, but it really made me mad. I mean, Emma was only 18 when she had Henry. That's really hard.
