I actually really enjoyed The Secret Circle. I was rather wary, having heard less than flattering reviews of it- worse than Twilight? Say it ain’t so! Thankfully, for me, personally, it not only exceeded those low standards but was quite entertaining. ^_^

I only read about halfwy through your stuff on Secret Circle (I'll come back to it later when I have time)

That’s cool, I know the feeling. I love reading people’s thoughts on tv shows and then I’m like ‘SO MUCH TO DISCUSS, BUT NO TIME’.

I vaguely knew that this was based on a book series…? Or…well, I think it’s being filmed by the same people who do Vampire Diaries, but I don’t know if the books were also written by the TVD writer.

I actually just finished reading it (because I wanted to read it before getting into the show).

Ooh, I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on how they managed the adaptation, whether in reference to my post or in one of your own. It’s always fascinating to see what people make of adaptations- IDK, I’m kinda addicted to that. I had a ball with reading people’s posts on Game of Thrones book vs tv.

I feel like they sorta gave too much away in an episode

Really? Like what? *hypnotic eyes* TELL MEEEEE. I, for one, am completely baffled as to where this is gonna go. If there is blatant foreshadowing, it is lost on me! Except for the ‘FAYE WILL PROBABLY BE EVIL’ and ‘CASSIE/ADAM IS WRITTEN IN THE STARS.’ *eyeroll*

Lol, hope work is productive!

I don't really want to get into too much about the book series (because I don't want to spoil you for anything in the show) unless you want me too.

I can say that the *Evil Faye* aspect was much better portayed in the book series. The way Cassie was introduced to the circle (which is in fact 12 people -Cassie being the 13th- not 6) was much better. And Cassie and Adam met way before Cassie knew of the circle (or even moved to the town) in the books. Adam and Cassie's story is so much more believable (and interesting) in the books. And Cassie's mother... Well, I won't get into any more. I really don't want to spoil things if you don't want me too.

I did really enjoy the second episode, so I think I will stick with the show for a bit. Even if it is far off (in ways) from the books.

I am all good for spoilers if you wanna lay 'em on me. I love hearing about differences/comparisons and such, so yeah, feel free.

Ohhhh, yeah, the books do sound like they do a much better job with the characters/relationships, esp. relating to Adam/Cassie. *facepalm* Way to fumble the translation of that, show!

IS CASSIE'S MOTHER EVIL? SECRETLY ALIVE OR RESURRECTED? TELL MEEEEEE.

I wonder if book fans in general rate the show lower? It might be an advantage to me that I haven't read them, lol. I might wait til the end of the season to read them- not for fear of spoilers, for I love them, but if the books handle it all a lot better, I don't wanna get disillusioned with the show!

Although from ontd_tsc, most people were unimpressed with the second ep, so it's interesting you liked it!

This comment is so so so so late in being responded to. I am sorry about that. What I am going to do is post an entry in my own LJ with the storyline more or less from the books. And then you can read it there. This way the entry/comment will not spoil anyone who doesn't want to read/see it. I will try to get to it tonight. No promises though!

Haha, no worries, I am the queen of late responses. *pets* And that's cool! I was gonna suggest you post an entry about it but then I didn't wanna sound demanding like a schoolteacher, WRITE ME AN ESSAY COMPARING BOOK CANON AND TV CANON.

And whenever you get to it's fine, I ain't cracking a whip here. :P unless you want me to

Posted! I wasn't as thorough as I could have been, but I think I more or less gave enough away!
