You should! It's a lot of fun! I always say, give me a movie like this over the ones that win Oscars and make you want to rip your heart out to stop the hurting.
I always enjoy your fandom posts and caps and pics
:D Thank you, that's so sweet!
Haha, I'm glad someone found my HP tangent interesting! I have this condition where I can't discuss something without relating it to HP in some way. *eyeroll*
Look, as much as I love the world and its characters and all the possibilities, a lot of the plotting is just...that bit in particular? it's really quite a clumsy way of moving people around to get the end result and symptomatic of her tendency to sacrifice character for the sake of plot.
I mean, look at that whole scene- JKR wanted Voldy to kill Snape so he felt he was the Master of the Elder Wand, right? So why would he use Nagini? Even if a snake couldn't be the Master, why mess around with magical laws like that? He has no problem using AKs on other people, and he's all 'Snape, it's such a pity, you're a loyal servant', blah blah blah, so yeah, he's a psycho, but I genuinely believe he has no vendetta against Snape, so why give his seemingly loyal servant a long, painful death?
Because an AK is instant death. And JKR needed Voldy confident enough to go to his final battle, feeling he had the upper hand, but for Snape to be alive to give Harry the memories. Never mind that at this point, Harry should hate him as the man who killed Dumbledore.
But a) she needs him to see those memories and b) Harry is always right about everything, or at least, validated by the text, so mysteriously, his near crippling antipathy toward Snape, the one that kept him from trusting him in OotP and made him think the worst of the man for years, that hatred suddenly vanishes because Harry knows in advance that Snape's going to be redeemed and it'd look bad for him to hate on him.
And again, Harry is sheep-like. There is no point, in the middle of a war, to go off and watch the memories given by a dying man who hated him and whom he hated. This kind of thing is why people liken DH to a videogame- like when you roam through a new level and you meet someone and they have a message, you automatically stop and register the new info that'll help you on your quest, etc. etc.
(I read a comment once which made me lol- basically, Snape loathes Harry so much that in his dying moments, he releases all the memories of his bitter vindictive thoughts about him, every scene where he's ever criticized and berated Harry, just all these negative memories so that Harry gets all demoralized and crushed. *g* Totally OOC, obv, but I mean- what did Harry expect? It'd serve him right if he landed in those memories in the Pensieve and it was just all of Snape yelling at him!)
Aww, you noticed! I just changed it a few days ago. ^_^ The original gif was of Emma making a gun out of her fingers. I figured it was time for a change, I wanted one of her with short hair. ^_^
WOW, this comment wound up really long, sorry! I just have a lot of feelings about DH inconsistencies and plot-holes.
I think I read in a fic about the reason Voldy used nagini was because it was a horcrux it was still him killing snape but I never really thought about it that if he used AK then he wold have died instantly and could not have given harry the memories.
The ins and outs of DH, at least the second part after the big camping trip, are so complex sometimes!
That would be so funny to think of Snape giving Harry memories of Snape being mean instead of helpful memories, lol, the final fu from snape to harry ;)
That's right about the gun/hands - you have an icon with her doing the thumbs up then I think?
Yeah, but...oh, right, I forgot he didn't know Harry was a horcrux as well. I get so used to knowing stuff I forget characters don't know it as well. That's an interesting theory, but again, it just seems so convoluted- he wants optimal performance from the Elder Wand, which is attained through being the Master, which means killing this dude. Why get another creature to kill him, even if it's on a technicality that means you're still PROBABLY gonna be the Master, when you can AK him yourself?

This, exactly! It makes me giggle, tbh. I wish someone would do a crack!vid like that after DH II is released! :D
