YOU SAW THOR. =D *has been wanting to squee about it with someone*

I didn't realize they were one and the same. To be fair, I haven't watched Kyle XY in at least three years. My brother had to point it out to me. (He watched the whole series again last month) I actually thought she WAS the girl who played Xena. Then I realized that show came out in the 90s and people age. *facepalm*

One of the things I love about this movie is how well Thor himself develops from the start of the film, until it's conclusion. My main problem with a lot of superhero movies is that there isn't much development that way. As much as I love Iron Man, it has this problem A LOT. It makes him such an engaging character, and really is part of what makes the film so fun to watch.

That cap with Sif and the Warriors Three when they find Thor? I lol'd. HARD. Such a hysterical scene.

But I'm with you, Darcy was awesome. *nods* The tasers were a part of it. And I want Leverage crossover fic with her Parker being quirky and bonding over their shared love of tasers.

Sif is awesome, and kickass and lovely, but I don't know if I want to ship her with Loki. I had a friend link me some fic recs earlier, so we'll see if between you and her you can change my mind on this. ;)

As for Odin's "no" to Loki... I saw it more as it as saying "No, you didn't have to." because he saw the motivation behind his sons actions? IDK.

At least, that’s what I got from this. That he’s horrified and repulsed to learn his true nature and is trying to show that it means less than nothing and he’ll wipe them all out to show that he belongs in Asgard. Y/N?

THESE WERE MY EXACT THOUGHTS ON THIS SCENE. *nods* He's so desperate for approval, even if it's his own. He thinks THIS is how he's going to get the recognition he craves, and finding out about his heritage only makes matters worse. D: And this was what made Loki such a good, sympathetic villain.

(And it takes a LOT to make me sympathize with the bad guy.)

As for Jane, I LIKED her, but think she needed more fleshing out. I loved though, how at the end, she was actively searching for a way to create a wormhole between Earth and Asgard, instead of sitting around passively waiting for Thor to come back on his own.

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. >_<

I didn't realize they were one and the same. To be fair, I haven't watched Kyle XY in at least three years.

That's okay then! I only watched it years ago, too, so...even though she looks the same, it doesn't mean we should've recognized her, 'coz she's from an old show. Pfft. :P

I actually thought she WAS the girl who played Xena.

LOL. Okay, that is so silly! *squishes you* Xena was much older! :P

One of the things I love about this movie is how well Thor himself develops from the start of the film, until it's conclusion.

Yes, this, exactly! I thought that was really well-done; we go from the adrenaline junkie goofing off (well, he thought it was for the good of Asgard or whatever, but it was a damn irresponsible thing to do) to someone who makes a weighty decision and sacrifice in order to do the right thing. That was- wow. *hugs him*

That cap with Sif and the Warriors Three when they find Thor? I lol'd. HARD.

SO ADORABLE. It's great having well-rounded warrior women! She can be a BAMF and be all giddy and girly, heh.

Darcy was awesome. *nods* The tasers were a part of it. And I want Leverage crossover fic with her Parker being quirky and bonding over their shared love of tasers.

Yesss, Darcy love! And OMG, I approve of this crossover idea! I totally see her and Parker hitting it off! :D I WANT.

I don't know if I want to ship her with Loki.

I went in already believing in the ship, lol, so that's why I was so easy to 'convince', I was predisposed to see it. It's things like when they have those confrontations, it's always Sif who addresses Loki directly, they gaze intensely into each other's eyes and it's like nobody else in the room even exists. He talks to her and then acknowledges the others as an after-thought. That kind of thing just makes people who are so inclined see it as proof that the two of them come first in each other's minds, y'know?

Also, at the end, Sif offers her condolences to the queen- who squeezes her arm sympathetically. That seems to suggest (again, for those who want to interpret it this way) that she knew Sif had a special connection to Loki and was offering comfort to her as well. There were undertones there, imo! :P

As for Odin's "no" to Loki... I saw it more as it as saying "No, you didn't have to." because he saw the motivation behind his sons actions? IDK.

That works for me. Even if I was like 'dude, can you reel your son up and then tell him it's okay and not to pull crazy stunts like that anymore?'

I did think it was kind of 'no, I couldn't allow you to, even if it was your attempt to prove how dedicated you are'. And then Loki was devastated and then 'screw you all, if you can't accept my efforts, if I'm no good here, I've had it.'

THESE WERE MY EXACT THOUGHTS ON THIS SCENE. *nods*

Yay! Always nice to know I'm in the right ballpark. ^_^

IKR? Fantastic characterization, I love subtlety and nuance and believable motivations. I thought they were going to make him flat-out villainous by inviting the enemy to destroy his former home 'coz he was blinded by his emotions, but it's actually quite understandable that he used that as a trap and was trying to destroy the enemy to solidify his position as son and royalty and deserving of being there.

I feel so bad for him that it backfired, but...what did he expect? Thor got his ass handed to him when he tried a similar thing! (of course, his way would never have worked and just gotten them all killed *eyeroll*)

And it takes a LOT to make me sympathize with the bad guy.

*shifty eyes* My default is pretty much to root for the bad guy... :P

I loved though, how at the end, she was actively searching for a way to create a wormhole between Earth and Asgard, instead of sitting around passively waiting for Thor to come back on his own.

Yeah, see, that was good! Astrophysicist using her brains, working toward finding a solution, that was what I wanted to see and yet most of the movie, she was solely the love interest. So while I like that at the end, she got to be independent and all, it was disappointing and too little, too late for me.

I wonder if there'll be a sequel? Or if the next superhero movie, which I believe has Loki in it to some extent, will address this at all?

xD I've always grown up with superhero cartoons - an a super strong sense of justice. Ergo, I automatically frown-faced at the "bad guys" and pretty much root for the heroes. For a while as a kid, I didn't even like Batman because he was too "grumpy".

Hopefully in the second movie, we'll get more of this. I know this film is setting up for the plot that's been building up since "Iron Man" with the Avengers film due out next summer. So they were kind of rushed setting up the characters (especially the more minor characters, I'd hae liked to see more of Sif and the Warriors Three) Loki is (supposedly) set to be the main conflict in the film. Though IDEK how it's all gonna work.

And Thor 2 got announced! It's coming out around the same time as Iron Man III if I'm not mistaken *____*

LOL! The idea of you being turned off Batman 'coz he's so grim and stern! *squish* IDK, with me, like, I kinda go for the underdog- and it's kinda the default that the villain will lose against the hero time and again. Plus, they're often much wittier and charismatic than the heroes to me! It depends what the movie/show is, though, naturally.

OMG! I didn't even realize there was a Thor 2 coming out, that's fantastic news! :D I wonder if Loki will feature in it? I'm worried 'coz as you say, I've heard he's the villain or at least, there's conflict between him and the heroes in the Avengers movie, so. Hmm.

I'd so much have liked to see Sif more, and the Warriors Three were also cool for what little screen-time they had. Maybe they'll be explored more in the sequel? *bounces hopefully*

Yay for these sequels!
