You win.

PS. Another parallel to D/V, y/y? The kissing in the first ep bit, that is, and especially that it's not all sweet.

The fact that she thinks he's ridiculous for all this macho protective stuff and that entire scene really, just cracks me up.

Roxton goes after her to try and help soothe her, be all, 'if you ever want to talk about it', because he doesn't know her well enough yet to realize that she's going to slam down her walls and freeze him out, 'I won't.'Yes, see that's what I'm finding interesting right now, the fact that in general guys are the once who are all, let's not talk and in this case it's slightly flip flopped (at least right now anyways ( ... )

Why, thank you, thank you. *bows* :D

OMG. I can't believe I didn't even consider the D/V parallels. *facepalm* I have to rewatch Prometheus Unbound again. It's my favorite ep for that whole season! *bounces* I wonder who made it super duper special? :D I pity the fools that didn't grasp how cool she is, and how she improved the show a million times over.

But yah, their kiss! I love Daniel's humor, I just adore how he becomes this witty, capable, confident, cool dude, rather than the geeky, gawky, bumbling archeologist he started out life as. And then I watched Farscape and I loved this scene even more because of its lighthearted J/A parallels!

Yes, see that's what I'm finding interesting right now, the fact that in general guys are the once who are all, let's not talk and in this case it's slightly flip flopped (at least right now anyways)*frowns* You're right. Weird. I never really thought about it, that's just how it was, but I like it! And really, it never could be any other way between them, with Marguerite and her secrets, he ( ... )

DUDE! *clings* I'm an addict as never there has been. It's been two days since I've been on LJ and it was KILLING ME, ZOMG. Like, I'm at the stage where I DREAM about posting on LJ and then I wake up to cold, bitter reality and there is no color or light in my life. :P Now that I'm here, all is good and right with my world again. *glomps*

I will say this though- Vala made that show live again. They needed somebody to shake things up and get them out of that slightly boring little rut they'd fallen into.

Yah, ITA. People disliked Vala either because she intruded on Carter's 'sole woman of SG-1' territory or because she interfered with their Daniel ships, neither of which is her fault. There is simply no rational explanation for hating her. I bet there are countless people who ONLY watched the last two seasons for her. In fact, season 9 is my least watched of the whole series because I'm like, 'Where's Vala? Season 10? 'k, I'm there'.

Ohh, Farscape. ♥Hee, Gigi turns up in a second season TLW ep! I usually only recognize actors from ( ... )

Uhh, foreshadowing much? Marguerite can read stuff there on the walls but doesn't know how? Either something wacky is going on or there is foreshadowing happening.

Yah, see, I don't know when they figured out where they were going with Marguerite's Chosen One status, [I don't think the Morrighan thing was determined til later] but this ability of hers is definitely intended as vague foreshadowing for something.

Some people have explained it in fics as a result of her eduction or whatever, but come on, seriously- deciphering languages that haven't existed in centuries, that she's never seen before? Give it up. That's some mystical ability going down, 'k? I don't buy the 'rational explanations' for this one. I just wish she got to do moooorrre. *pouts*

Stuff happens in ep 20 or 21, Prophecy [it's not a mythology ep, though, ignore the title] that I choose to construe in a way that favors the theory of her talents coming to the surface but it's very very VERY vague and 9/10 wishful thinking ( ... )

Lol, but it's cool either way, because no matter what they did they set up the framework for something, at least.

Oh please. Education? That's ridiculous. There is no way that somebody just gets a dead language popping into their head, automatically translated.
Unless they were trying to make it into some sort of Farscape crossover. :P
I say there are some things that defy explanation and rationale in fandom.

I just wish she got to do moooorrre. *pouts*

There had better be a whole lot of fanfic. *stamps foot again*

Agree on the two types of scene though. Both are important, and the angsty ones are great for more serious character development anyway. Not that fluffy ones can't be, but it seems like the really serious emotional ones work well for learning the characters.

*snort* I am a leaf on the wind.
Except in this. I'm gonna go for chronological.

I really want to read TLW crossovers. There was this one HP/TLW fic but...meh. It was okay, but not that special. I kinda want to do an SGA/TLW fic, but I got like, four pages in and then gave up. *headdesk* I like the planning stage but execution? Not my thing.

I say there are some things that defy explanation and rationale in fandom.

Aliens the universe over speaking English in Stargate!verse definitely qualifies. It was so silly and illogical they just didn't even bother to justify it, lol.

There had better be a whole lot of fanfic.

I can rec you a whole lot of authors/fics. I saved everything I could find and then sorted them into folders of 'awesome', 'good' and 'okayish'. Did I mention I like organizing?

Although when I think about it, Salvation had a good example of an emotional/light-hearted scene. On the riverbank, when Marguerite was talking about being forgotten and he was all, 'I'll never forget ( ... )

I think a big part of why I adore Marguerite as much as I do is that she's sooooo ahead for her time. She speaks her mind, independent, intelligent, self-sufficent, all traits that most people would attribute to men during that period, but yet, as tough as she is, she does have her feminine moments. She's an excellent shakeup for the crew I think, and especially for Roxton, jaded and carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders and all. Their banter is what gets me going.

Some may like Ned/Veronica, and they're okay. But they lack a certain... fire (read: witty banter and sexual chemistry) to keep me entertained.

I just love how nobody can escape their past, even in... (wait for it) THE LOST WORLD XDXDXD

*nodnod* ITA. She doesn't give a damn, she is who she is and she won't compromise on that for 'propriety' or abide by social restrictions for 'mere females'. I love how in Nectar, Challenger goes, 'Where I come from, women are not so bold' and she laughs *squees* and replies, 'How dull for you'. It doesn't matter to her, she won't be shamed or change her nature to suit the values of the time. I love it.

tough as she is, she does have her feminine moments.

See, what gets me is that being 'strong' sometimes equates to 'losing one's femininity' in women. It really pissed me off in Voyager how as soon as Seven joined the crew, Janeway stopped wearing these sexy peach nightgowns and began wearing these matronly boring grey neck-to-toe gowns. Blech. Once they get the sexpot on the crew, Janeway stopped being 'feminine' for some reason and that was so irritating.

She's ( ... )

I fell over giggling at that scene because it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Marguerite. It's kinda hysterical because for a little while most of the guys, especially the older ones, don't know what to make of her or even worse, how to handle her. She's so much more than this whole money-grubbing harlot that she pretends to be, and I'm SOOOOOOO glad that they got past that. Well more or less, except for when Veronica (sorry VEE - I could dropkick Finn down an airlock too - sorry if you like her XD) gets bratty and tries to pigeonhole Marguerite.

See, what gets me is that being 'strong' sometimes equates to 'losing one's femininity' in women.I could not agree more. I'm not sure where people or writers get this RIDICULOUS idea from. My biggest thing is that for a while, any strong woman was a lesbian. Xena, yet another cheesy hokey show I adored... Like Xena kicked ass (I dare anyone else to do ( ... )

*nodnod* I'm so used to the lovable, supportive Summerlee that when I rewatched it, I was surprised at his attitude towards her at the start. He mellows soon enough, though, but Challenger maintains the superior attitude for quite a while, lol. I like that Marguerite gets to impress him with her scientific knowledge along the way and he realizes that she's not just a pretty face, heh.

except for when Veronica (sorry VEE - I could dropkick Finn down an airlock too - sorry if you like her XD) gets bratty and tries to pigeonhole Marguerite.

Veronica pisses me off. I mean, how many times does Marguerite save her ass and she still gets on her case? She rarely thanks her when Marguerite puts herself in danger to save their lives, and just takes advantage of her, it's ridiculous. One of the worst moments I think is The Guardian, she drags Marguerite out from the fumes from the ( ... )

In Skin Deep, they have a Geiger counter.
It bothers me, alright? There was a prototype of that in 1908 or 1909 I think, but it didn't really exist as we know it until 1928. It's small, and theoretically not even a problem, but still! Gah.

ALSO! It's like an episode of the X-files, omg. *giggles* People turning into goo! Green cocoons that they have to be broken out of!

The zombie skeletons with NINJA!SKILLZ part I could've done without though. I giggled too much.

Roxton: The next time anyone suggests a picnic, let's have it at the tree house.
Skeletons: *rise and are creepy*
Marguerite: Allow me, boys, it's the least I can do *shoots raptor free/is generally awesome*
Raptor: *attacks skeletons- OM NOM NOM NOM*
Group: *flees*
Cave: *explodes*
All: *duck*

The ending was priceless though. Challenger and Ned and Veronica need to tease them more often. ♥

Ned: If you weren't too busy holding hands with Roxton [he bats his eyelashes and singsongs this, and I crack up ( ... )

OMG HAI! ♥
I really need to see a shrink. I don't see you [well, 'see' you] for a day] and I get jittery. *eyeroll* Dependency issues, gah.

Hee, it is so cool that you know facts about the Geiger counter, which I'd never heard of before this ep- I was just like, 'hey, random scientific device, okay then', I'm going with it and you're like, 'I CALL FOUL!'

Challenger has a habit of 'inventing' devices before historically reported- but it's plausible, I mean, they're stuck on the Plateau, any scientific breakthroughs he makes aren't going to be reported in our history, right?

Though I admit, I developed a blase attitude toward such blatant chronology violations with Xena. I mean, she met Mary and Joseph, Caesar, Boedecia and other famous people from different centuries, so... *shrugs*

ALSO! It's like an episode of the X-files, omg. *giggles* Bwahaha, I was totally ROTFLMAO at the X-files deja vu. It happens so often in this show. Marguerite in that cocoon = Scully in the first X-files movie, except not naked and covered in ( ... )

It's totally alright, I've been all "Life, stop being so lame, I am in the middle of important stuff, we are being fangirly!". *dances*
'See me' cracked me up though, I gotta admit.

Umm, I have mentioned that I'm a little bit of a science geek at times right? XD
And honestly I was trying to let it go but it nags at me.

I can go with the 'Challenger inventing it before the rest of the world theory' though. Not 100% because I'm still trying to figure out how Roxton would know about the work Hans Geiger did, but... *shrugs and takes a deep breath, then releases it*

Marguerite in that cocoon = Scully in the first X-files movie, except not naked and covered in gunk and requiring romantic CPR [as distinct from purely neutral un-romantic CPR from non-love interests]Yes! TBH, I was humming the XF theme song for part of this episode. It was nearly a reflex. And yay! *huggles* You totally get the difference between romantic CPR and its un-romantic and far less awesome cousin. Which makes me want to go pull out my tapes and watch ( ... )

'See me' cracked me up though, I gotta admit.

Our language hasn't come up with appropriate language to describe online relationships. It's all so sense-oriented, 'see you', 'talk to you', etc. etc. This is a meeting of the minds, yo. Where is our lingo?

Oooh, good point about Roxton. I always find it strange and interesting when he demonstrates some knowledge of science. Like, he's not just all brawn! Amazing! *squishes him*

You totally get the difference between romantic CPR and its un-romantic and far less awesome cousin

*nods fervently* THIS DISTINCTION IS IMPORTANT. Lips touching between a ship for whatever reason is very very different and more squeeworthy than the regular, less interesting 'my mouth is on yours purely to save your life' type with non-ship partners.

I wasn't a big fan of The Guardian but had to snicker at santacrux going, 'Won't Roxton be ripped when he finds out Challenger got to give Marguerite mouth-to-mouth resuscitation?' Lol ( ... )
