All Hail Glorious Capitalism!
In the last 3 weeks we have lost 3 of our key Machinists at work,2 to retirement and My apprentice quit to seek greener pastures!This has put me in an interesting position.I am left covering for all three guys.
Needless to say this has had me thinking about my financial situation.I am currently sitting slap bang in the middle of my payscale,however there is now nobody else left in the scale......so, Im going to politely go to my boss tomorrow and remind him of his favourite saying,"A fair days pay for a fair days work!" and possibly remind him that im doing the work of three men, and that my loyalty to the company could be become absolutely above question for the simple addition of about $1.25 an hour.
I know this isnt exactly playing fair....but ive given 4 years to them and i think its time to start paying my dues!
