Just the premise of this almost made me do a spit-take. Then I recovered...until I saw your icon, and started snickering. Well, I once again recovered, enough that I could read the fic (which was awesome, by the way). Then I got to the end and almost snorted chili and a cracker up my nose.
(Oh god, I so want to see more of this AU. ...Only with Mike staying far, far away from crowbars and bombs. o.o)
Aw, this is adorable! I want to hug little Mike. Loved his "please don't kill me" and him not wanting to take rides from strangers. He's a good boy at heart.
He is a good boy at heart! It's just that practical concerns like money and stuff get in the way of that sometimes. That's something that really gets me when people rail on Booster for being a corporate hero like he is. It's not like he has much in the way of options, being time-displaced as he is, y'know?
There was a subplot in his solo series about him having tax problems because he didn't have a social security number. It's not easy to get a regular job without paperwork.
Personally, I find "save the world and star in commercials" easier to understand than "save the world and write an article about it under a different name, lying to everyone and developing a split-personality."

(My brain seems to want to see more of it, too; it keeps making suggestions. But yeah, no trips to Africa for this Robin II.)
