Sunday was a strange night. I had dinner at Chinese kitchen. I often order from there, and I've taken to getting the spicy vegetable lomain. I'm also not the one ordering so I have no say in how spicy the lomain should be, I just dictate spicy and let the chef try and please me. This changes when I eat there. I ordered it spicy but the waitress coudnt go "medium," I didn't want it mild so I just went with very hot. Those were the only two options. Immediately after ordering I mentioned how I hate having to specify the level of hotness because there is no uniform level to truly base it off of. Thad also went with very hot. The noodles came bathing in a pepper soup. The sienna color of the lomain was pocked with red dots and chunks that glared up at me amidst a hot brimstone steam. Thankfully we had our own pitcher of water. The food was so hot that about 9 bites in I would have to swallow fast and drink water after every bite, then avoid the fluctuating heat. If I began shovelling in the next bite while the previous bite was not completely washed down, I would start coughing and drop the food. It was a good experience.
Then I went with Thad, Lauren, and Annie Chang to the party. We went on a long trek about the city. The party was exceedingly tribal. Torches guarded the edge of the woods, and a large bonfire sprawled in the midst of the field. The festivities turned into a wrestling circle and various people battled each other. We declared a battle of the Gabes and Gabe parish and myself battled. I lost sorely. Gabe is very strong, and a good bit heavier than myself. The battle began with us walking up to each other and awkwardly pseudo hugging, I expected us to fall back and charge, but he just threw me down and pinned me. I almost got out a few times but failed. I'll have to change my strategy for any re-matches in the future, it seems he has me beat in raw power. After that I battled Thomas. Thomas has no weight and little strength but he was ferocious. His strategy was to hold on to me as tightly as possible. This ended up turning into strangulation. My neck still hurts, and it hurt badly to talk for a while afterwards. But I won that one.
I left early and got a ride back with the Something Hots. They began singing to me on the highway, replacing every three words of an Avett Brothers cd with Gabe, and kept on until I exited the sliding door of Emilia's van. It was rather entertaining.
