It Billows!

I really want to write in this thing right now, but while trying I just keep obsessing about the word fecund, the word dour, and thinking about sitting in air conditioning in the summer listening to Bob Dylan and Radiohead and not having anything to do. I miss the sensation of walking at night in the summer, that viscous warm darkness that drapes ( Read more... )

Personally I think "fecund" is three letters too close to "feces", but I mean, if Pablo Neruda's translator uses it, than it's all good for me.

Could you perhaps put the seniors in chains side-by-side in front of you in your mind instead of combining them? That would give me a comforting sense of individuality.

When is Godzilla Club?

I'll have to agree with you on that one Firecat, "fecund" has always carried a fecal aspect to it, for me at least.

The Godzilla Club meeting is on Saturday night at the House Cranford, be there or be square.

I want to go see Bela Fleck with you. Let me tell you a little story. It is about Lauren Holt's dad. One day I told him I was learning to play the banjo and he told me to go see Bay-Luh Fleck and I laughed inside and he went on about Bay-Luh Fleck and now I think he's way cooler than, say, anyone.

I know what you mean about that.

Do you not say "Bay-Luh"?

I'm sure you do, I've always heard "Bell-uh". But it wasn't so much his pronunciation as his excitement, his fervid agreement that Bay-Luh Fleck was really the cat's pajamas when it comes to the five string drone.

The Decemberists also use fecund. I like the word, it does seem somewhat dirty though, more in a sexual way than an excrement way i think. It's harsh sounding but im fine with that, i do have strange taste in words. Most people don't seem to agree with me that liquescent, senescent, and other escent words are some of the prettiest in the language.

I forgot to respond to this. No I can't chain all of you together, theres not enough room. The moving walkways are dual file only. A walk and stand lane is it. I could have you standing in the stand lane, and the rest of the seniors rushing by and fading like ghosts in a continual circular pattern, but this doesn't seem to do them justice. So I'll only do this if you insist.
