life in the depths of the winter doldrums has left me feeling lazy and apathetic. it's also turned me into a recluse. while the weather has made marginal improvements, it's still cold enough to make me feel as though adventures outside of the apartment are a bad idea. my mental/tentative plans for a trip back to edmonton/edson over reading week were prohibited by my pretty fucking broke financial status. christmas break being the whirlwind of stress and travel that it was, a trip back home with no constrictive plans would have been nice. plus, the fine folks at environment canada tell me that edson is expecting above-zero (likely chinook) temperatures starting on wednesday. they also tell me that the weather will be even warmer in jasper and, presumably, at marmot basin. shit. if anything, a break from this weather is what i need.
