Yukino Part 2

Posting Writing Sample:

Yukino removed her square glasses, raising her other hand to wipe at her eyes. She had expected the tears ever since she’d left Fuuka the day before but when they hadn’t come she had accepted that she had made the right decision and they wouldn’t be flowing anytime soon. Looking at the school sitting in front of her she realized she should never second guess her emotions. Replacing her glasses, she took a deep breath as she slowly started making her way up the path to the main entrance.

This was it; her chance to start again, a place where no-one knew her or her past. A place where no-one knew Haruka. Haruka. She hadn’t said goodbye, in truth since the carnival ended she had avoided her best friend. Yukino hadn’t realized how hard it would be, she thought everything would go back to normal. But it didn’t. The knowledge of how she felt about Haruka was always there, between them. Haruka hadn’t said anything, she hadn’t needed to. Yukino could see the wariness in her eyes whenever they had been alone together. So she had used her capabilities and found this school. Haruka wouldn’t follow her; that much she knew. So this was her fresh start.

Opening the door she smiled politely at the lady behind the desk, “Hello” she said tentatively, “My name is Yukino Kikukawa”

Journal Writing Sample:

Well I’m here and it’s different to Japan, but there seems to be a lot of people here from all over the world. Not that I’ve met many people yet, I haven’t really ventured from my room. Luckily I don’t have any roommates so far. I unpacked everything earlier and came across a photograph of Haruka, I must have packed it without realising. I know I should put it back into my suitcase but it seems so right sitting on the bedside table. I’ll put it away once I’m settled in more.

I haven’t been here for a day yet and already I miss her. Maybe they were right, I rely on her too much and can’t survive alone. But I can’t live knowing she doesn’t trust me. I need to move on. I have to move on. And in order to move on, I need to move out of this room and find people. You can do this Yukino Kikukawa, after everything you’ve been through, this should be easy.
