It's been a really long while …
More than a month since my last post, actually. I haven't really been in the mood to post anything, though I have been looking at my friends page, so I sort of know what's happening for all of you.
The important news for me is my grandfather's passing at the end of March, after long years and particularly these past months of illness. I truly believe he's in a better place now, but it still was hard for us. My mother and grandmother are holding up okay, but we're still sort of wondering when or if they're going to break down. My grandmother, in particular, was exhausted after taking care of my grandfather for such a long time.
On less depressing news, I've just finished my internship in the ICU, and all in all, I'm really happy with those three months. It was sometimes very hard, because for the first time in my life I sort of identified some patients with people I knew and it was very disturbing, but it was really interesting and we all got along very well. I'll be starting pediatrics tomorrow and I wonder how that's going to go.
Other than that, my sister's Canadian exchange partner is going back home tomorrow, after three months here. It was great fun to have her, and she was really nice. It's going to be strange to have the house back to the family only.
