i let the fire decide my fate. it's such an easy trick, chewing on matchsticks, using abusing & sitting here smoky-eyed staring at you. i know i remind you of your days in the junkyards, here with my heels spearing dreams in the gutter, inhaling the hopes around me & breathing out trash. decipher these prayers. shining like diamonds, sharp edges cut & imperfectly colored. absolve me, absorb me, i think i'm leaking this love all over your sidewalk. i think i swallowed your sins & mine i think i'm spilling this disease & it's spreading. everyone loves an oil spill when the colors catch the sun. it's last call do you know where your faith is ? would you believe me if i told you it's your last breath & i've got the words to your swan song written on the palm of my hand. i know you picked me out for a purpose. but whose secrets are whose & who's coming between us ? i've got your last rites they're right where you left them. i have a fistful of flames to be fanned. let it go, love the ember and the last ash and the first spark. let it go. i know i remind of you of what you never wanted to feel.
