Hello to all those experienced knitters out there in LJ-land!
My knitting project for nephew/godson Riel is zooming along nicely - it's really excellent therapy for the hands. I'll have to post some pictures of the work thus far - it's so damn cute. And cuddly. And toasty.
So far, I have finished the back and fronts (including my first knit-in pockets). Just sleeves, hood, and edging to go!
Anyway, in about a week or so I may need some help with the final couple of steps... I have to pick up stitches along the selvedge so I can add a ribbing border. I also have to stitch side seams and set in a pair of sleeves. Naturally, I've never done any of these things before. Sure, I've read all about it, but some guidance from a real live person would be far more educational.
Anyone up for a couple of hours of educational socializing? I will bring snacks.
I can also bring along some new-to-me books on lace knitting that I've recently been given. Some beautiful stuff in there!
