they're called riggers,..and moving the size of houses is just a matter of knowing how, we moved an entire ball bearing plant 180 degrees to enhance workflow,..o.o

I've seen photos and TV programs that have shown that kind of heavy machinery. Very impressive to see in action. But to actually see one live and in person - ooh, yeah!

Have to admit, those guys worked as one seamless unit. I guess they had to, given the 'weight' of responsibility involved. ;-P

oh, i love to watch heavy machinery being operated skilfully - and i often wish i'd get a chance to learn how myself. talk about looking at a big damn machine the way other women look at a box of chocolates...

many years ago, my husband and i were living in a small house with some vacant land alongside it. the owners of that land decided to build a house there. one morning i woke up to the sound of a diesel engine. there was a man with a medium-size backhoe, digging a hole for the foundation and basement of the house-to-be. and, i swear, that man was making that backhoe dance! now, any reasonably trained heavy-equipment operator can dig a hole, with much jerking about and back-and-forthing; but this one didn't waste any motion at all, digging and swinging and even dumping out each scoopful of dirt with style and flair. i watched him all day, in fascination and envy, as he skilfully scooped out a basement-shaped hole in the hillside. when my husband came home, he was very amused at how fascinated i was by the backhoe dancer ( ... )
