*big hug* Sorry about Niko, but I am glad you're doing the very reasonable and mature thing. It really, really sucks having to give up a pet. I remember as a kid we had to give away one of our dogs because she was just not right for us. But by hand-picking the family we made sure it was a perfect fit for her (in her case a farm with lots of room to run). I'm sure you'll have the same 'success', but yes, it does hurt and it sucks. I'm sorry :(
