To those that actually read my LJ thanks for er...reading it. Sorry it's been such a huuuge gap since my last entry.
I'm sure over the last few months I've seemed a bit depressive hence my lack of (most likely) EMO postings but I'm confident things are gonna change soon. In fact I think they already have...
I'm not super-superstitious but this month has started off great!
I had my civil partnership with Colin in late January and ever since life has seemed so much brighter. Things aren't physically different but now were officially a unit; a legally bound couple, it's strange but even after living together for over 6 years this silly bit of paper that joins us has made me so unbelievably happy!
I'm glad we had a small gathering of our closest friends, and mixing the friends of the life you all know with my parents wasn't the disaster I could foresee happening, though I think my Mum was glad to escape after the meal.
Ever since things just seem to be getting better!
About the same time as the ceremony I entered an online competition I happened across whilst perving at some motorcycle gloves
(puppy want!!), so I thought 'why not?' and entered a competition to win an Arai Helmet worth up to £400. I got a message last week that I was the lucky winner and today I had a call from the sponsor telling me that although the one I'd chosen was out of stock, it's now there and would be with me tomorrow, I'm so chuffed I have new gear! WOOT!! :D
This Arai Tour-X3 Luster is the one I chose so it will go with my black/grey/silver Dainese leathers but also my orange boots and gloves! YAY! Thanks for all the input in helping me choose, I'm not usually that scatter brained, but it's an important decision for me!
I've finally started organising GearBlastUK 2010 and lessons learned from last year will hopefully make this year's event even better.
It has been decided that it will take place one week before Halloween but for one night rather than two to ensure it doesn't clash with other events or parties, just need to chase up the club managers in Birmingham and make sure they are on board with our dresscode and 'props' ;)
Finally the project I'm hoping to get kicked off soon might have the backing I need to get started and I'm raring to go, just need to keep my fingers crossed that my investor keeps his verbal promise.....if not I'll start eating humble pie and pleading for deposits....
For those on my Yahoo IM and those watching my
FA account; you've probably already seen my
BootPawz design which so far had some very VERY positive feedback, now it's down to me to show the prototypes and ensure the production version is of a high quality so word will spread and I get more sales.
Time will tell but with the backing I've been promised it's looking like it will get off the ground development wise and also for my first batch of
BootPawz. Happy days. If this takes off this will be the beginning of a trade I've always wanted to be part of but not only that it uses all of my skills and appeals to me like no other career before.
Being faced with limited decisions since being laid off has been depressing and my best option still wasn't something I could really get my teeth into. Now I know I have an opportunity to really turn my life around using what may appear to be a risky prospect, but those close who do worry about me needn't worry too much as it's not forsaking common sense for a new project.
My creativity can be a bit spontaneous, sporadic, nomadic, erotic and erratic but it's always there fizzing away. Might as well put it to good use.
The only problem I foresee if this project makes financial sense is describing my new found enthusiasm and income to my family......
Now to keep on top of my LJ posts and update y'all more regular like *big cheesy grin*
