Hopefully this will be an update without a high TMI/oog factor. The short version:
-Sunday night about 7/8 I started having a constant stomach ache.
-Said stomach ache got bad enough that I vomited/called in sick to work/couldn't sleep the entire night.
-Monday morning I went in to see my doctor. Based on his examination he decided that appendicitis might be a very real concern and sent me to the hospital to get blood work and a CT scan (note: generally from the first evidence of symptoms with appendicitis you have about 24 hours before the thing ruptures, ruptures are BAD)
- Tests were done about six or so with diagnosis confirmed appendicitis.
- About 7:30 (time required to get an operating room and team together) I was prepped and taken into surgery
- Came out of surgery and was QUITE loopy.
- discharged today about 2, good news appears appendix didn't rupture so expensive anti-biotics not in order, however, have been given very strong painkillers. due to go off said painkillers around Friday (when I go back in to have surgical things that will have served their purpose removed)
- no lifting anything heavier than 10 lbs for the next six weeks.
- no driving while on painkillers
- and if I feel like I'm overexerting myself stop.
- questions?
