Well, I got home safely enough, and immediately found myself even more bored than I was last holidays. Dad and Mum just keep turning more and more into caricatures of themselves; the stern, distant autocrat and the washed-out, ineffective doormat. I've spent most of my time in my room reading and... thinking.
But thank goodness, today's different. I'm about to hop into the floo to go and have lunch (and hopefully spend the rest of the day too) with "a friend from school" as I described it to Mum. I didn't mention that her name was Millicent.
