Behold the giant mac tower and tremble!
I had my interview for a job at the apple store today, it went pretty much as expected. I doubt I'll get the job, but oh well, worth a try I guess.
Apple released the
iTunes for Windows SDK today. Now any application can access song information from iTunes. The SDK requires using COM to access iTunes, which in C++ is somewhat complicated, but I managed to figure it out after an hour or so. So now I can get the currently playing song from any windows application. The point of this was to add the functionality to
Semagic, so that the Detect Current Music button would work with iTunes, but after playing with the Semagic source in Visual Studio for about an hour, I was still unable to get it to compile. And there didn't seem to be any sort of documentation about how to compile included with the source, so that didn't happen. Plus they seem to have implemented it via a plugin in the newest version.
It's sort of strange to find your entire family tree posted on the internet in at least two separate locations, while previously having had no idea that any such thing existed. It's sort of interesting to know who all my relatives are backwards until 1750 though.
