Celebrate with the Coq

So ... finally at the end of the transition period, where I've been juggling two jobs. It hasn't broken my brain, but it might have bent it a little. But as of Monday I'm in the new role, and I'll be getting 2 weeks worth of this month on my substantially higher new pay. Plus Fran & I had a pleasant couple o' drinks with the new team tonight - I was a bit surprised at the total lack of card & gifts from the old team, but what the hell. New team good. Old team sucks (ok, not all of them).

And what better way to celebrate than a Coq trip? We couldn't get a table at Hawksmoor, so Fran and I burnt almost all of the first week of the pay rise by opting for the tasting menu at Coq d'Argent. Oh man, the food was even richer than the rest of the diners. Top tip for anyone having a meal there - the strawberry dessert, available until August, is one of the best desserts I've had in forever. The terrace wasn't open, which was a shame as I really did fancy eating al fresco, but we had a window seat overlooking the roof garden. Bliss. 6 courses of it.
