Still alive

Item one, I wrote something semi-creative today that I'm not too ashamed of, so feel free to head over the mobstermistress to check it out. It's in second person, which I've pretty much never used. I don't even like second person all that much, but . . . what the hell.

Item the second, hiya! I realize it's been a horrendously long time since a last updated, and I really have no excuse for that. I've even been meaning to for a while too. At least once every couple weeks something will happen and I'll think "ooh! Gotta update lj and mention that!" but then I decide that watching TV or playing some form of computer game is more important. What can I say, my priorities are a little whacked. Anyway I'm updating now, so stop bugging me about it.

One of the best things in my life at the moment: work is almost over for another summer! My last day is the 27th (happy birthday to me!) and then I have the next two weeks to just hang out doing nothing. Hopefully I'll manage to finish Final Fantasy X, because when I leave for school I don't see Sean letting me take his PS2 with me. Which brings me to the second best thing in my life at the moment: I get to go back to school soon! I find it somewhat amusing that I'm virtually the only person I know who actually enjoys school, but there we are. I'm looking forward to it, so there.

Lesse, what else has been happening lately. Read a whole bunch this summer, no big surprise there. Re-read a bunch of series, but I also managed to pick up a couple new Terry Prachett's (yay!) as well as read some hard-core sf (the Robot books by Isaac Asimov, I have "Farenheit 451" sitting waiting for me), and some other random stuff (currently in the middle of the Bourne series by Robert Ludlum). To be honest it hasn't been that bad of a summer. In fact, if it weren't for work being so painfully boring, I'd say it was one of the better summers of the past few years! Ah well. I'll just be sure to stay the hell away from the "real world" for as long as humanly possible.

Oh! Other pretty cool news, my hair is red! I wanted to take a picture to post with this so you could see that it actually is visibly red, instead of the last time I attempted to dye my hair without bleaching it first. But I went in on Saturday to my Mom's hair dresser (actually stole Mom's appointment because she ended up storytelling), and picked out my colour. The lady painted it on (two whole cups full), I sat and "cooked", she washed it out and blow-dried it and voila RED! So yay!

Oh yeah, returning the the books scene, I got myself something of the bargin rack at Chapters a couple weeks ago called "Meditation & Dreamwork". I know, I know. One of those books meant for New Age loonies and not for people seriously trying to meditate, but it was only $7 so what the hell. Actually it's not bad. It has three sections (that I'm supposed to read in order), which are Meditation, Spirit Guides, and Dreamworks. I'm still on Meditation because I'm having a little trouble finding my "stillness", but that'll be another project for my two weeks off. Actually the little thing I wrote is a description of my "cleansing space". I realize it's supposed to be a personal type thing, but I wrote something so I wanted to share that with you folks.

Anyway dinner just arrived, and I'm out of things to talk about, so see you folks later!

writing, life
