Today, I went to Providence with my sister. We went to Thayer St. in the East Side. It was a good time, we didn't really buy anything but it was just hanging out with her. I tried to convince her to get her lip pierced, and she totally wanted to, but she is going to wait until after the summer, because I guess she would lose her job if she had a facial piercing. She works at a beach club in Narragansett, RI, where all these rich fucks and their bratty-ass kids go in the summer. I fucking hate rich, pretentious pricks. She tells me all these stories about the patrons there being dickheads to her because she just works there. Fuck them. They belong to beach club in fucking Rhode Island, enough said. If they were really as rich as most of them pretend to be, they would not "summer" in Narrgansett. I could never work for people who didn't respect me. That's just fucked, but I can't really talk because I don't have a job. Oh well. So, in Providence, I bought the new Verse CD, which is just fucking awesome. They are a hardcore, straightedge, posi band from Providence. I've seen them live twice, and they just play with amazing energy. The singer's face is red during their entire set from screaming to hard. I like Verse because they, like myself, are anti-violence in the hardcore. In the CD's liner notes, after the thank-yous, it says: "NO THANKS: Anyone who tries to ruin the hardcore and punk scene with violence." That is so true. Now, I do my share of intense dancing, and I've struck my share of people in the pit, but not with the intent on harming anyone. But I have seen many people who go to shows just to hit people (read: every show in fucking Worcester), and it just pisses me off so much. I really want to do something about it, but the people who are involved in this violence have lots of friends at the shows, and are bum buddies with the bouncers, so they don't get thrown out. And it just pisses me off, because they're giving hardcore a bad name. Fuck Worcester. Providence shows are 100X better than Worcester shows. There's no fights over petty shit, people just go there and do their thing. But back to my day. After Providence, I went to Zach's graduation party. Pretty good time. We obviously played tons of sports since we're all jocks. That's pretty much the extent of any party during the day: sports and food. At night, it's another story, but I won't get into that right now. And now, I am home. Another day down, 9 more until California. I can't wait to get out of this shit hole. And I'm stealing the quote of the day from Ron Powers, because I'm a theif and a liar.
Quote of the day (although I think it was said like yesterday or the day before): "Captain Randall, butt pirate." - Peter Tympanick
