Well, I'm just gonna start with when my family got here. They arrived Tuesday, but I didn't get to see them until Wednesday because they got in late and they're pussies (j/k, they're both wicked hardasses). Well Wednesday I had class until 1, so they got to my building at like 130 because apparently there's no parking in LA. They parked like literally about 1.5 miles from my building, but that's cool, I guess walking is good for you. Yah so they got here, we said our hellos, then we went into the lounge on my floor and talked until like 310, because I had another class at 330 off campus (my Jewish History class, it's at the Hebrew Union College down the street). So I got back and they were waiting for me. I don't really remember what happened after that, but I think we just walked back to their car (a rental, Chevy Cavalier, god we just can't get away from those fucking things). We drove back to the hotel they were staying at after a brief session of getting lost and rolling through Compton. But it was OK, my dad was strapped. So we get to the hotel, and it's in fucking Koreatown. I don't know why, but I found this very funny. So we went to get some grub down at this restaurant in the hotel, a Korean restaurant obviously. So we're like the only "crackers" in there, but it was really good. It was kind of hard understanding the menu because it was in Korean with shitty English translations, so I just got the first thing I saw that said "Beef" because I love dead cows. So we all order, then the waitress brings out this "make your own" salad kind of thing, like 6 plates with different vegetables and noodles on them. Badass. So we all dig in using our chop sticks, because we're all proficient chop stick users. About 2 minutes later, the waitress shows up with forks for all of us, it was funny, she seemed kind of embarassed that she didn't think we could use chopsticks. [Sidenote: Holy shit, I'm eating some Korean Ramen noodle-type noodle soup, and I just drank the soup, and it was the fucking hottest(spiciest) shit ever. I think I'm gonna die. But going back to the story...] Yeah but the waitress was wicked cool, she brought us more salad stuff when we killed the stuff we were eating. I think she was really happy that we could use chopsticks or something, because she kept bringing us stuff we didn't order. That's just the feeling I got. So the meal was good, and she even threw in some rice with my leftovers. I was "stoked" (I couldn't think of any other word, sorry for the hipster lingo). So after dinner we walked to this market that was "close" to the hotel to buy me some food for my dorm room. I guess when Al says close, he means a 40 minute walk. But I didn't mind, except that my feet were practically bleeding on the way back because I had sandals and my dad was walking at an extremely fast pace because he had "use the restroom" (those weren't the words he used, but I don't like using excessive profanity unless I have to. So yeah, we get to the market, I get previously mentioned noodles, some other kinds of noodles, and a bowl to microwave them in. So we walked back and then they dropped me off at school. I don't think I did anything later that night. No wait, I stayed up until like 2 with a few of my suitemates doing something, I don't remember what, but I remember laughing alot. God this entry is a fucking epic. So the next day, I went to class, I was done by 1. The fam came back, we went shopping at the bookstore, but no one bought anything. We went to about 5 places looking for a fucking beard trimmer, but apparently no one in LA either A) has a beard, or B) takes care of their beard. But it's cool, my mom is sending my old one out here. So after shopping and talking, we went to dinner at this AWESOME Mexican place a few blocks from campus. It's the most amazing Mexican food you'll ever have. Got back to my building, chilled some more. Then we said our goodbyes. Aww, sad. But I'll see Kate in a few months and Dad, I don't even know when (he's thinking about extending his stay in Iraq for 3 months, and I don't think that's a bad idea because what the fuck, what's 3 more months?). I've been talking to my mom occassionly, pretty much when I need something that's it. Oh my dad brought some cookies my Nana made for me. I was ecstatic. I hid those shits from my theiving suitemates. So that night I went to a party at a frat. Good time. I didn't go to my classes Friday (oops). But it was only 2 of them, and pretty easy ones (Chemistry and Calculus). I don't think I did anyting Friday the entire day, then went to another party that night. And today, a whole lot of nothing, just playing XBOX, which I'm addicted to. Not going out tonight, oh well. Tommorow I'm gonna do some homework (yeah right, no way in hell) and go to a water polo game, because that shit is crazy! Well, I guess that's enough for now.
Leave a comment with a topic you want me to talk about next time I write, I think it would be fun.
