So I am coming home from my fathers 60th Birthday party yesterday. It was a really good time. But for some reason, I didn't sleep well after the party, and I only WISH I could claim that it was due to alcohol libations that I was feeling so awful the next day (that day being Monday). Anyway so I end up leaving my phone at my parents house. Luckily I have driven less then a mile from the house, so am able to turn around and retrieve it. Then I drive to a gas station for some much needed pick-me-up. I buy one of those Rock Stars (blue flavor), and I only end up feeling more ill. Had been headachey, tired and kinda nauseous all day. But it did help wake me up a little bit.
Then as I am driving my orange rental call back to the airport for return, there is SO MUCH TRAFFIC! It really begins to make me panick that I may possibly not make my flight. I get to the airport at about 4:30. I turn in the car, and it takes about 10 minutes. Not ten minutes to deal with the person, but 10 minutes to park the car, get out my stuff, deal with the counter person, and then get to check in. Check in takes another oh 10 minutes. And I am really starting to worry, cause I haven't gone through security, and my flight is supposedly leaving at 6:10. So by this time it is 5 o'clock, and I am starting to really worry cause there is a pretty substancial line for security. They want all of your 3 or less ounce liquid stuff in a sealed bag, but out in the open, I have to pull out my lap top, which I place on top of it's separate carrier so that it is protected, and they of course take that out and off. So no protected laptop. My first time with traveling with a laptop, so this was slightly disconcerting. Of course I had to take my shoes off, and with my inserts, that made things slightly difficult. Necklace, watch, rings... think that was everything. Man, this stupid terrorism sh*t sucks! By the time I get through security, it is about 5:25, and I am worried I will be late for boarding. So I run to the gate with out my shoes back on, and trying to stuff everything back in somewhere I will be able to find it later. I get to the gate, and everything is seemingly calm. Whew! So I thhink to myself, well, I don't feel good (still), and my blood sugar is probably low, so I will go and get some food. WRONG! I hear over head that all passengers for flight so and so, mine, must be at the gate for boarding.
Ok so I said my sugar was low, and I was panicky right? Ok well so here is me not thinking clearly, and freaking out. I open the door to the plane. (It is at an airport where you board from the tarmac). Yes I OPENED THE DOOR TO THE TARMAC! The most OBNOXIOUS noise emitted from that door! OMG! From the peanut gallery I hear "Good work sh*t for brains!" Yeah, I feel I deserve that. So the sound goes on and on. Everyone is plugging their ears cause it is so piercing. Of course I am too. I feel really stupid. It doesn't help much that that same person who exclaimed the state of matter of my brains earlier, rushed by in a huff (I guess trying to find someone to shut it off), stated once again, just in case I didn't hear it the first time, the state of matter that comprised my brains. I look at her, but I don't say anything, cause there is no point really! I did a really stupid thing!
But here is the really interesting thing. It takes security about 20 minutes to get there to turn it off! OMG! Good thing there wasn't an actual emergency! Should that have been an actual emergency, we would have been all blown up by theses terrorists that would have already and easily hijacked the plane. Cause not only was there an alarm, but the door was unlocked! The plane doors open. But anyway that all is besides the point. What probably happened was they saw me on the monitor being extremely stupid, and coming right back into the door, and didn't sweat it. BUT, it did take really a long time for them to get there to turn the d*mn thing off. And there was wide applause for the deed.
Oh well, live and learn I guess. Still critical thinking during that moment of time, at an all time low. Must really learn to bring some food type substance in my purse! but the wow factor of stupidity, my own stupidity, astounds me. (sigh)
