Another Funeral....
Yesterday I attended a funeral for my friend Tracy's roommate Joe. He died from complications from AIDS. Joe's partner David was very strong thru the entire day, Tracy was glad I had come, I wanted to give my love & support to both of them. I saw Joe at HiBearNation & he looked good. When I saw him at the wake Monday evening, it was a shock to see him, he did not look like the same person at all.
Joe had pre-planned all the details of his wake & funeral including a recorded message from himself at the guest book podium. In his coffin there was a Teddy Bear, & a small drawer opened up & it contained items he liked, like candy bars & favorite pens & things of that nature. I was shocked to hear a farting noise from the coffin when I was up there. I guess he had a remote controlled device with instructions for relatives to press the remote control to activate a recording. I must admit it really made me smile & it helped eased the pain for all involved & Tracy says he knows that Joe is laughing at all the guests he has fooled from where he has gone to after he died. He was in the Air Force for 7 years when he was younger & he was discharged when they found out he was gay :-( But, he did receive an American Flag from the "President of the United States" I guess "Dubya" did not know he was gay, otherwise that wouldn't of happened.
I did not know Joe that well, but I know he will be missed...
