Excellent Fic! Really, really good. Although I THINK the reason why it was originally Kord-Tronics, then later Kord-Omniversal was cause since he lost control of one company, he set up a new one. Actually, as I recall, Ted's set up a number of different companies, some of 'em with Booster.

...Starting a company with Booster?

Did they all fail in three days or less?

Well, I can remember at least two off the top of my head. One was a world-wide shipping company where they were using Justice League transporter technology, which unfortunately they hadn't acquired legally and it ended up causing some problems. There was also a software company that I remember being mentioned in a Secret Files involving the DEO, but I don't think it was referenced again after that. Blue and Gold Software, I think?

Didn't they also try to run a casino or something together?

...That failed? (I honestly cannot see Booster successfully running a company -- well, except maybe a porn company...)

Oh yes, the infamous Kooey-Kooey-Kooey Island resort incident. Yes, they set up a rather successful casion on the Island of Kooey-Kooey-Kooey during the JLI era, but it failed due to two things. First the island was in fact alive and got woken up by all the activity, prompting it to start moving and secondly Big Sir and Major Disaster (formerly of the Injustice Gang and later Justice League Antarctica) wiped out the casino with Big Sir's card counting skills. Oh and the fact that their startup money came from the League's cash funds and they eventually got caught.

right! from the second annual and JLA #25!

... totally forgot about that ... which is a little odd seeing as how the next issue begins my favorite JLA arc (or at least the arc that got me collecting the series ... so i guess that is my favorite be default ...)

I vaguely recall him losing Kord-tronics control to his dad at one point during his comic. By the time JLI occurred he was no longer running the company as I recall.

yeah ... his girlfriend/manager-type called in his father when the company was on the verge of bankruptcy bc. Ted was out being the Blue Beetle more than being a CEO. unfortunately, that didn't quite work out as the main KORD hq in Chicago got demolished by Carpax ... final issue of the DC Blue Beetle run in the '80s.

... things i don't really need to know but i do ...

thanks!

re: Kord-tronics vs. KORD Inc., i think you might be right. i don't have all the pertinent issues of exactly how Beetle got his company back and i'm actually more going off the "final" version in FNATJL, but oh well . . .

and yes! Kooeykooeykooey! i loved that arc in the JLA: hi-larious!
