Part 6
Ted was amusing himself by finding Booster’s ticklish spots. He had a lot of them.
“You win! I’ll join you! Just stop!” Booster gasped out, laughing helplessly.
“Really?”
“Yes! Please!”
Ted grinned and shimmied on top of Booster. “I knew I could convince you.” He leaned down and kissed him, fingers in Booster’s hair. Booster kissed back, straining against the ropes. Ted broke the kiss and smiled wickedly before kissing his way down Booster’s chest, shifting his weight so he ended up kneeling between Booster’s thighs, hands on his hips, mouth slowly moving down past Booster’s navel.
“I should have brought the webcam.”
Ted turned to see Bea standing in the doorway.
“Ted?” she gasped.
“Hi. What are you doing here?” He turned back to glare at Booster. “Did you call her?”
“No?”
“You’re going to have to be punished.”
“You’ve already drugged me, tied me up, tortured me with ice cubes, starved me, and tickled me. What’s left?”
“You need a spanking.”
“What? No! Bea, help!”
Bea smiled. “Booster, you’ve needed a spanking for years. Mind if I watch?”
“Yes!” Booster snapped, just as Ted answered “Not at all.”
Ignoring Booster’s objections and attempts to escape, Ted untied his hands from the bedpost, tied his wrist together, then did the same for his ankles. Booster still tried to get away, but Ted grabbed him and dragged him over his lap. He saw the JLA communicator on the pillow. Tsk-ing at Booster, he dropped the communicator to the floor and stomped on it a few times, smashing it. Then, one arm holding Booster in place, Ted brought his hand down with a resounding smack, making Booster yelp and squirm. Six smacks later, he paused to blow on his palm.
“This stings.”
“Then maybe you should stop,” Booster snapped.
Ted considered it, then spanked Booster twice more.
Bea slipped out of the room unnoticed, but returned a minute later to hand Ted a spatula. “Try this. It’ll be easier on your hand.”
“I thought you were my friend,” Booster wailed at Bea as Ted gleefully whapped him with the spatula.
Ted finally stopped, his arm sore and Booster’s bottom a satisfying red. He studied his handiwork for a moment, then turned his attention to Bea, who was sitting in a chair and smiling. “What are you doing here?” he asked.
Bea shrugged. “I wasn’t given any instructions beyond ‘go to this location and find Booster.’ What are you doing?”
“I’ve decided to be evil. Booster’s going to join me. You want in too?”
“You’re not evil.”
“Am too. I'm going to rob a bank.”
“No you aren't. You are going to untie Booster and give him back his clothes, and then we're going to find out how you came back and what's wrong with your head.”
Ted reached up to gingerly pat his face and hair. “Something’s wrong with my head?”
“I meant inside. You're obviously mixed up.”
“That's what I've been saying!” Booster chimed in.
“I am not mixed up. I just realized that being a hero wasn’t working, so now I'm going to be a villain. I think I'll like it. There's something very satisfying about the idea of building a kryptonite-powered death ray.”
“You are the Blue Beetle and a hero.” Bea scowled at him.
“Now I'm the Blue Beetle and a villain.”
“Is that so? And why did you decide to become the Blue Beetle in the first place?”
Ted hesitated, then answered softly, “Because Dan Garrett died helping me, and I wanted to keep his memory alive.”
“And now, using his name, you are going to become a villain, the type of person he spent his life fighting against. The type of person who killed him. Do you think he’d be proud?”
Ted looked down, rubbing Booster's rear. “I'll change the name.”
“And that will make it okay? The world will remember you as a villain, no matter what name you use. All the good you've done will be forgotten. All the people you've saved will hate you. You'll have to fight your friends. Do you want that?”
Ted wasn't quite pouting, but it was close. “Yes.”
“No you don't, and I'm not letting you do it. Now untie Booster and let's go home.”
“No. I'm a villain. I'm keeping Booster and I'm going to do something nasty to you in a minute.”
Bea stood, suddenly covered in green flame. “Theodore Kord, you stop talking that way right now! You are a hero, and I am not letting you throw your life away in some stupid tantrum! Now untie Booster and let's go before I set you on fire!”
“No! Bad idea! You'll hit me too!” Booster shouted.
“Shut up.” Ted spanked Booster again.
“Ow!”
“See? I am evil.”
Fire powered down. “That isn't evil, Ted, just kinky. And pretty tame kink at that.”
Ted and Booster protested. “Tame? My ass is bright red! And look at how chafed my wrists and ankles are!”
“I drugged him and tied him up! Without his permission! He's not even gay!”
“He's bi. Like you,” Bea said.
“I'm straight!”
Booster and Bea looked at Ted, Bea with one eyebrow raised and a small smirk on her lips, Booster just gaping from his position draped across Ted's lap. “Um. I was straight. Wasn't I?”
Bea walked over and hugged him. The position was awkward since Booster was in the way, but Ted leaned into her, wrapping his arm around her and pressing his face into her cleavage. Bea didn't even threaten to burn off his nose. “I think I'm a little confused.”
“Let's go sort things out, okay?” Bea shot a thin flame at the ropes, freeing Booster, who wiggled out from between his friends to kneel behind Ted and hug him tightly. The three stayed that way for a minute, before Ted finally raised his head from Bea's chest and leered half-heartedly.
“I'm taking advantage of you while you're feeling all sympathetic, and you still don't think I'm evil?”
“No, but it gives me hope you're going back to normal.”
Ted dropped his hand to her rear end and squeezed. “How about now?”
“Ted, I know you've had a very rough time, and are confused right now. Which is why I'm giving you a warning before I turn on my powers.” Ted withdrew his hand.
Booster climbed off the bed and stretched. “I’ll just go get dressed, and we can head out, okay?”
Ted scowled. “No. Stay naked.”
“There are laws against that. Not that I really think anyone would object to me being naked, but it might be distracting for the ladies.”
Ted growled and tackled Booster. The two wrestled, Ted yelling that Booster had no right to let other people look at him like that and Booster threatening to streak through the neighborhood as soon as he beat Ted. Neither noticed Bea pulling her camera phone from its fireproof case and taking pictures.
Finally Booster managed to pin Ted, laying on top of him and holding his arms down. Before he had a chance to crow over his victory, Ted got one hand free, grabbed Booster’s hair, and dragged his head down. The two kissed, still oblivious to Bea and her plans to upload the pictures as soon as she got home. None of them heard the front door open or the quiet footsteps coming down the hall.
“Oh my,” Dinah said, stopping in the doorway.
Helena peered over her shoulder. “Yummy.”
“What?” Babs pushed them both into the room. “Oh. Wow.”
Bea grinned at the other women and moved to take pictures from another angle. Ted and Booster showed no signs of having noticed anything except that it was difficult to get Ted’s clothes off in their current position, but Booster was still going to try. They probably would have continued this way if Tim, having appointed himself in charge of scouting out the rest of the house, hadn’t finally made it to the back bedroom.
“Gah! The eye shields! They do nothing!”
The shout distracted Booster long enough for him to look up and see two women grinning at him, two other women blushing and staring, and one teenage boy with his hands over his eyes. Ted took advantage of Booster’s sudden distraction to shove Booster off of him and stand, straightening his clothes and letting the women see his face for the first time.
“Ted?” Dinah whispered.
Tim risked lowering his hands and opening his eyes at that, while Babs, the only one not taken completely by surprise, rolled forward to hug Ted, soon followed by Dinah. Helena and Tim walked over too, slapping Ted on the back and pretending they weren’t teary-eyed. Booster stood nearby, not noticing Bea stealthily taking frontal shots of him.

Originally Fire was the only one coming to the rescue, but then I thought of Tim's reaction, and had to find a way to use it.
Hopefully I shall finish the rest of the story over the weekend. Nearing the end now.
