Willow stomped into Xander’s workshop, growling under her breath. That wasn’t quite what grabbed Xander’s attention this time though. No, that was the -
“Green and purple hair, Will? Don’t think I’ve seen that one before,” he said, turning away from the latest batch of stakes he was working on.
Willow glared at him balefully. “Don’t even go there, mister,” she snarled, “Where’s that list of yours?”
Xander blinked. “Erm... please tell me you don’t mean the Dawn list?”
“Yes, of course I mean that list!” Willow said through gritted teeth, her head searching the room before alighting on the pinned-up list on the far wall.
Xander stared at her in mild worry as she strode over to the list, finally noticing the odd stains and fragments of herbs on her clothing and one other concerning thing. “Um, Willow... any reason why your top pocket is moving?”
With a flourish, Willow scrawled the words ‘Alphabetize Willow’s supplies’ onto the bottom of the list, and turned to Xander. Reaching into her top pocket, she pulled out a very sad looking frog, and presented it to Xander triumphantly. “And that would be Dawn,” she declared firmly.
The frog looked at Xander mournfully, and ribbited once.
Xander looked at the frog in Willow’s palm, looked up at Willow, and then back at the frog. “Two things spring to mind immediately,” he said carefully.
Willow rolled her eyes impatiently. “Yes, we’re going to need a princess to kiss her to turn her back. What’s the other thing?”
Xander pursed his lips in indecision. “Aren’t you... afraid of frogs, Will?”
Willow blinked. Then again.
Then she looked at the frog in her hand, screamed once and fainted.
“Hooo boy,” said Xander as the workshop started to fill up with concerned Slayers and Watchers, “This is gonna take some explaining...”
Dawn just croaked.
