REPOST: Twenty - A BtVS/24 Crossover - Angel/Kim Bauer

Setting: Around Angel season 5. For 24, between seasons 2 and 3.

Summary: Kim Bauer’s about to have the worst twenty minutes of her life. The clock is ticking…. Part of Jinni’s 20 minutes with Angel crossover challenge.
The following occurs on the night of March the tenth, and takes place in real time.
21.34 CTU headquarters.
Get a call on my internal phone and assume it’s dad ringing down his food order. I’m wrong - the voice calmly informs me that I’m being activated and to meet him in the sewers underneath CTU headquarters.

Inform Michelle that I’m just nipping outside for a breath of fresh air before dad sends me on a food run. She just nods and returns to gazing adoringly at Tony.

Make way to sewer access in lower containment area. Grate is currently padlocked, but Slayer strength makes it incredibly easy to pull open. Will have to do some creative paperwork later.
21.37 Sewers
Yuk. Where is this guy that called me anyhow? And why didn’t he just want to meet outside? It’s a lovely sunny day after all.

Contact appears - it’s Angel. Great. Sir Brood-a-lot has dragged me out of my nice warm safe seat at CTU and down into the sewers. Even on those days, I never ended up knee-deep in crap.
21.39 Still in sewers
Angel busy apologizing for getting me out of CTU. It’s not his fault I guess - I always knew the day would come when I had to make a choice between the Council and the CTU.
Sorry Dad.
21.40 Actually moving through sewers
Angel persuaded to tell background to problem on way through sewers to target area. Blah, blah, potential apocalypse, blah, needs someone with a pulse to end problem, everyone else on far side of LA, blah, blah, only I can save the world.
Wait, wait, wait…

21.41 Busy throwing up
Still, it’s the sewers. No-one will notice.

Wonder if that’s how Dad felt those days?

Being awkwardly hugged by Angel. Feels nice, though he’s definitely out of practice at the hugging thing. Does pull off a magnificent brood when he pulls himself away from me though. I give him an eight for the hug, and a nine point six on the brood.
He pouts.
21.44 Big stone door in middle of sewer wall.
I kick it in. LOVE these slayer powers - just wish I’d had them sooner.
21.45 Fight scene.
Vampire cultists at start of fight : seventeen.

Final score : Angel 10, Kim 7. Dammit.
Must ask Dad if I can get more unarmed combat training, though difficult to avoid using full Slayer strength. Hmmm….

Aha - holy symbols and somehow lots of sunlight surrounding artifact. Can see why Angel needed me. Pick up artifact and smash it. Very fragile and goes everywhere.

Yay me. Have apparently saved world from apocalypse.

Got chance of making it back to CTU before anyone misses me. Angel offers to phone in bomb threat to help. I politely turn him down.
21.53 Approaching entrance to CTU headquarters.
Am covered in vampire dust, and have crap up to ankles. This is going to take some explaining away. Wonder if I can get away with the being chased by a cougar excuse again?
Mission all done and dusted in 20 minutes. Bet Dad wishes he could do all his missions so fast….
