I have to pass the pre-licensing course. Then I take my pass certificate up to Okemos and take the state licensing exam. Once I've passed that, I can begin the training. I'll have one day of classes in Jonesville, then I'll go back to Okemos for two days of training (which means an overnight stay). Then I'll have two days of going out with my leader, and then a final day of training in Jonesville. In actuality, I can stay with my leader for as long as I need to until I feel comfortable, then I'm on my own. Self-employed. Selling insurance. If you'd told me a year ago, I'd be doing this, I would've laughed, and I might have called you a liar. But....here I am!
It is a lot to take on. I'm still working on my degree, as well as shuffling kids to and from college, watching Jon's progress at school, keeping tabs on Ed and his needs, etc. Ed has been fairly good at helping out. Some grousing here and there, but he knows I'm juggling a lot, and all of it is for the benefit of the whole family, not just me.
