Good news
Well, it's taken me over four weeks now of trying to book time off work, but I can now confirm that I will be heading to writerconuk this year! Woot!
(They're getting really crap at booking days/weeks off now. Yes, you may well be short-staffed but perhaps you shouldn't have cut staffing levels down to the bone, hmm? When we're at the stage when one extra person calling in sick causes chaos and massive shuffling around of people, you have a problem.)
(PS - After about four weeks of waiting to hear whether I could get the writerconuk weekend off, and bothering my manager and his manager (who authorises all the leave for the entire shift), I did an end run around to the Duties room, got them to print out a copy of my leave for the year and discovered that the right days off were listed. *head-desk*)
So curiouswombat you need be curious no more. *grin* darkhavens? Fancy sharing a train own again? We shall sit there and cry over Secret Six together...
