Factoring in all the other ways that the san pedro police have been making it more and more difficult to simply be a homeless person in that city, (closing of mental health clinics, harsh enforcement of anti-loitering laws, etc), and the fact that there is such a huge push for gentrification at the moment, I don't find it all that unreasonable to think they were simply trying to get one more homeless guy out of sight and mind. Especially considering the bewildered look on the homeless guys face when it was all going down.

I'm guessing someone just reported that there was a homeless guy on the bridge and the cops hauled ass over there.

Thanks for the compliment on the picture. I wish I would have been able to take it 45 secondds or a minute earlier though because it would have been a much more striking picture. The cops were both standing behind their doors with their arms streched out perfectly straight as if they were taking careful aim in some sort of standoff situation, and the homeless guy was just looking at them with this "What the hell is going on?!?!" look on his face. It would have been a much better picture, and added considerably more to the story as well.
