Challenge 14: Past Lives
Bollo dreams of the jungle. Of sunlight filtering through the canopy, of lounging against his mother’s belly and watching silverbacks fight for dominance. He dreams of discovering a termite mound teeming with delicious insects.
In the morning, Bollo puts the kettle on for Naboo’s tea and tries to shake away the nostalgia. Certainly his life now is colourful and exciting, but sometimes, it’s hard not to feel regret.
When he turns he sees Vince, hair ruffled from sleep, yawning as he pours himself some Coco Pops. Vince smiles, and Bollo remembers Bryan Ferry and India, leopards and snakes.
“Cuppa tea?”
