It's been months since moans mixed with music, since sex synced with sentences. Dan knows it isn't fair to Jones, to push and pull and keep pushing away, making hollow gestures of friendship but hardly ever touching him. Jones responds with whispered movements; quiet looks full of knowledge and muted longing.

I could live a little better with the myths and the lies,

Dan watches Jones attack the dance floor, moving as if it's his last night on earth. When the familiar, painful chords of She's Lost Control start, Dan can no longer merely be an observer. Jones' bare arms arch achingly upward, towards something just out of reach.

When the darkness broke in, I just broke down and cried.

Jones grips Dan's waist and pulls him into the storm. Dan feels like he's trying to capture lighting, hands burning as he struggles to hold on.

I could live a little in a wider line,

"Love will tear us apart," Dan murmurs against Jones' ear.

When the change is gone, when the urge is gone,

"I don't believe that." A sharp turn and Jones is free of Dan's grasp, careening out into the chaos of the night.

To loose control.
