A little Poem
Most people
do not understand
the medium that silence is.
Music is not sound,
but the balance of sound and not sound.
Sound without pause
is chaos, not music.
To hear
one note,
instead of another
And then
to hear two notes
at once.
Harmony
and dissonance
Then silence
And there’s power there too.
Anticipation.
Processing the sounds
Understanding
how rhythm is
a beat now,
and not now
Timing
Silence is passing time
Experience is the notes that we play
in the passing of time.
Life:
moments,
experiences,
friends,
celebrations,
mournings.
Chords and beats
on the blank passing of years.
And we are all song.
