The Fun and Not So Fun Times of Last Weekend...

Jan 23, 2006 13:04

Last weekend was Katie's long birthday weekend. Lets just say that I'm pretty proud of the fact that I managed to save a big load of cash to give her a really great birthday experience, however, I refuse to give out the monetary amount due to continued nagging from my folks for throwing my life away on frivolous things.

So on her actually birthday, I got her a Red Wings jersey with a promise to go to at least two more games this season. Saturday I took her to the Whitney in Detroit for a nice dinner experience, albeit the service was not so great except for the water boy. Then we squeezed our way into the MGM Grand Casino. We spent at least an hour and a half in the building playing the slots, coughing through clouds of cigarette smoke, and hearing loud happy winners. Then we spent the next half hour sitting in line in the parking garage while everyone else realized how to actually get out. Some parts of that were fun thanks to Katie but I'm not obliged to disclose that info at the present time. Sunday we had cake and ice cream at Erin's where I realized how much pop culture I've not come to witness as a hushed crowd of 20 somethings watch Desperate Housewives. I think another show takes up my 9:00 hour, thank you very much Mr. Seth MacFarlane. And that was the fun part of my weekend.

My folks are driving me nuts! They are constantly harassing me to move out and get married ASAP, something I don't really want at the present moment. They never gave my older brother this much shit...its gotta be the bad times I guess because I'm soooooo much of a financial burden to them... Needless to say I've been talking to my older bro and his wife seeing if I can move in with them and pay a small rent. I'm hoping to be able to do this by the end of this year. All I have to do is secure an automobile for myself and a decent enough of a job and all will be well.

But thats enough rambling for now. I got lots of homework to do before the day is over so I will say good-bye.
