Beacause I couldn't help myself...

So in honor of the throneland challenge I posted earlier and due to the fact I'm still trying to figure out all the mess of characters for my fan fiction I have decided to yet again steal a challenge and use it to figure out how the different characters fit with the plot of the story. (I'm taking this like uber seriously which it totally out of character for me.)

Any who... Tarot Cards for the major players in my new FF below (with nifty explanations!)

Mara Flowers - The Empress

++ Why Mara is the The Empress?

Mara is the Empress for two reason, one she is one the two central characters to the story and the second being that to me Mara is the warm, nurturing part of the story. She is the one with the heart, who loves too much almost. She is strong and has power in her own right.

I was debating between the Empress and High Priestess for her.

Jon Snow - The Emperor

++ Why is Jon Snow the Emperor?

For much the same reason that I chose Mara as the Empress. He is the obvious second central character in the story and the major qaulites that I see coming out in Jon in this story are very similar to meaning behind the card. Jon's leadership is going to be a very central part of the story and because the Emperor represnts the King in a way it also is hinting at some of the major conflict with in the story in it's own special way... <.< ((I am trying so hard not to give away any of the plot... is it working???))

Renly Baratheon - Strength

++ Why is Renly strength??

Renly is a major part of Mara's life, more like a brother to her than uncle. She seeks out his council when she is feeling lost, confused or scared. He is one of the few people who want to see Mara move beyond just a bastard and become something great. He is her support and much of her strength through out the story.

Tyrion Lannister - The Hermit

++ Why is Tyrion the Hermit?

Tyrion has great intelligence, offers council when asked (and when he is not as well) and is always the one who knows the secrets in the story. He plays a crucial role with Mara and Jon and I can't go any further... will give too much away... just trust me.

Robert Baratheon - The Hanged Man

++ Why is Robert the Hanged Man

Ok... this makes little sense I know. But it's more about the Sacrifices he (or rather other's make for him) makes with in his life in this story.

I wasn't sure about this one, truthfully. I was debating but I think in the context of my story and how the world is playing out in my head as I write it.. it will end up fitting him.

Cersei Lannister - The Devil

++ Why is Cersei the Devil

Ok this one is obvious, she is one of the "villans" i guess you could call it. It's more about what the card represents in this case than the name. Lust ----- Egoism ----- Obsession ----- Anxiety ----- Anger  These are are key character traits (almost) of Cersei as I am writing her though perhaps she may redeem herself. You never know.

These are all really general at the moment as I work out how everyone is going to end up interacting with one an other throughout the story. The top four are pretty much solid with the roles they are going to play. I have been doing a lot of taking notes in a note book and coming up with story archs and the like. I, perhaps like others, put a lot of thought into writing a story. I also put a lot of ground work in... having a set plan before I get too far into my story. I thought instead of keeping it all hidden in piles of notebooks I would share some of what I am doing. So if you have some comment to make or an idea to throw out please go ahead!

I hope to have the fully finished first chapter of Flowers in the Snow up by the end of the week (with much thanks to my amazing beta <3 )
