Last Sat, I went to East Coast Park to blade. It was cool blading alone because you can blade on ur own pace without bothering to keep up to ur peers or to slow down n wait for them. I blade and blade and blade without reallising that I have reach Tanah Merah Safra Club, the very end of East Coast Park. It was amazing, hmmm, maybe not that amazing yah. heh heh... Blading along the route reminds of the fond memories when me n my buddies were walking the 72 km route march before we could pass out to get our beret... We were holding on to each other; grabbing each other if we were sleeping while walking. It was the camaraderie that pushed us to the limit. I still remembered that we were shagged out because prior to the march , we just completed a mission in Tekong. I can still briefly remember the events during that week.
Day 1 : Prep for Mission
Day 2: Continued prep for mission, set off for mission in the evening. Mission thru'out the night.
Day 3 morning: Withdrawal from attack. End of mission. Reached camp at about 10 am.
: Finish clean up n admin at about 12 pm. Canteen break./ Rest.
: 2pm - Prep for 72 km route march.
: 3 pm - Set off for route march.
Day 3 evening to night : Walking thru Coastal Road towards East Coast Park. Walking to n fro East Coast Park for I think 2 to 3 times to
complate the 72 km mark.
Day 4 morning : End of route march. But we were told that we did not complete out 72 km route march, SO WE CONTINUED our route
march till afternoon.
Day 4 afternoon : End of Route March (for real) .Parade to receive our beret, it was a moment of sweat, pain and pride. FOR HONOUR
AND GLORY!!
It was shagged but I think it was worthwhile, I really enjoyed the times in army..
