"Unforgiveable Duets"
Heh. There's a track in my music library that comes from an album called Unforgettable Duets. I glanced at it as my eyes were on the way to something else on the screen, and for a split second my brain processed it as Unforgiveable Duets. I think that's an album that needs to exist, if only as an idea here in my LJ.
It would be unforgiveable, for example, if Klaus Nomi were to sing a duet with Britney Spears. How about Kate Bush and Joey Lawrence? Oh, I know: Mark E. Smith and Barbra Streisand - they could do "What's New, Pussycat" for extra-special weirdness! It doesn't all have to be singers I love paired with those I find negligible, after all. Sometimes it's just that there would be too much cognitive dissonance for the two forms of vocal stylings to be allowed to coexist in this universe.
Incidentally, I think I just poked my own imagination out by coming up with those pairings. Now that my brain hurts, I invite you to join in the fun. Who would be your unforgiveable duets, and are there specific songs that you think would be especially dreadful if performed by a particular pair of singers?
